Both sound the same, but there are some open E's in the song which should be D#

It doesn't matter too much, however, as it's a lesson for beginners who probably won't tell the difference.

You can actually play this without your pinky go look for this video: "Sweet Child O Mine 1, Guns 'n' Roses (Guitar Lesson) Electric" posted by some guy called martyzsongs. He teaches you how to play this without your pinky. i couldn't play it until i learnt the "no-pinky way" haha i suck. anyway good luck!!
