It's a pre-made slab, and theres a small hook underneath the slab which be pulls down with a finger with the hand that's holding the slab. As he's pretending to push the shadow onto the imprint, he pulls the hook down with one of his fingers, which pulls the soft material down into the shape of a hand which is stenciled into the bottom of the slab.
