Huge impact? Doubt it. I'm only seeing 2d image manipulation here, and 3d manipulation is a "little bit" more complex.

I don't doubt it; I see 2D animation benefiting a lot from this. So easily being able to move joints on a 2D image, and putting weight on body parts to stop collapse... I find that really impressive.

Because nobody uses 2D anymore, most certainly not television animators or independent game developers.

2D animation is everywhere, and this technology can probably still be adapted to be useful in 3D animation.

To me, the coolest thing here is the animation at ~3:00, you just define a few key positions and the rest are interpolated on the fly. I like it.
