@Sorida777 Lampy's a girl in Poland, too. Again, in the Polish dub, Toaster's gender is ambiguous, because 'Toster' is of the male grammatical order, though she is voiced by a woman. Toaster's also a man in the German version, so really it varies from dub to dub.
I REALLY hope Disney gets their act together and releases it on Blu-ray because by 1987, I'm pretty sure the standard screen size was 16:9 (if released in theatres) and every release since is in 4:3. To this day it's in that format, it's very disappointing for such a beautiful movie! Disney, please give this movie the treatment that it deserves!!!
@MuslimahMelika I'm 16 and I love it. Don't get me wrong, it creeped me out as a kid and did nothing to cure my clown phobia, but I re-watched it a few years ago and fell in love with it. Go nostalgia!
As a long time fan of BLT I can say I am going to go see it if it does hit the big screen, may even buy it. 3D is a bad idea for it, kills what made it special kinda like the original Mario side scrollers. I think that what ever they do with Mr. Disch's idea is fine, he only wrote the book to make some extra money.
Well I'm glad we finally now know the REAL story behind that freaking confusing scene with the flower! XD LOL I never fully understood that scene even after watching it as an adult but now I can finally hear from the director himself, exactly what that scene was meant to convey to the characters and why it's important! :D
I think near the end, when he starts to talk about the movie being longer originally, it makes me upset, because in terms of pacing, the movie definitely needed to be longer.
I loved this interveiw, it was nice to have some insight into the movie and how it was made... and now I have more things to expand my fanfiction and OC's upon. *shot*
I own both the sequels oh VHS, and they're... okay. Not horrible, not great. Just... okay. The original pwns them both, though.
If they make a CGI sequel-- even if it's Pixar-- I think I may have to choke a bitch. :> I can see having a remastered Blu-ray/DVD, but not a damn CGI, or even worse, 3-D, sequel.
@rockerdog167 I would probably hurt someone, haha. I would just be incredibly pissed-- I hate when some old movie only you like is suddenly brought into the spotlight again and now everyone likes it. I guess it's a dumb thing to dislike, but it just bothers everyone when that happens.
And if there were a sequel I'd want Hyperion to make it, it go right to DVD, and NOT BE CG.
@mouse264 I ahte that, too-- you're not alone. I was into Owl City before ANYONE knew who he was, and of course, I still love Owl City and Fireflies, but I kinda wish he was still a little unknown artist. :/
True dat. I'd feel much better about kind of liking the sequels if Hyperion and the original crew had made them. :< Because the concepts were decent, they were just... executed poorly.
@amethystducky Right after the opening credits are done in the movie, when radio starts talking, if you look hard the screen looks like it's wobbleing.
I share your feelings on the movie, I remember watching it religiously on VHS as a kid, in the early-late 90's... and I pretty much dropped it for about 10 years, but my sister wanted to watch it a couple years ago, I watched it with her. Was immediately blown away by how good it still was, but also by how disturbing it was. I'm not surprised at all that I started worshipping horror movies when I was 8, looking at it.
And yes, pre-this, there was very little info... sad.
Don't touch any part of The Brave Little Toaster. I agree with Michael, it would completely compromise the integrity of the film. You can have fun with your c.g.i. - but DON'T ever let it come near the Toaster.
im 18, and this movie is 23 years old, but its is my FAVORITE animated movie ever. and if there is a new one in 3-D coming out i will be the FIRST one in line to see it
The part about Sundance at 44:40 made me feel nauseous. If it'd won the award like it should have, recognition of animation as a medium that can be mature, dignified, and intelligent would have been expedited tremendously. To think today there are still people who are reluctant to see Pixar movies because animation's for kids.
@whatisonyourmind Have you seen the two sequels to TBlT??? They're straight to VHS blasphemy. I'll be glad to see a remake considering I completely forgot this movie even existed for the last 18 years.
I remember when they came out (my folks never bought them for me, I watched the first so much that they HATED it) but I did see Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars on the Disney channel in 1999 or so.. barely remember it.

@MuslimahMelika No shame in that. Its really quite dark for a "kids" film and features a lot themes that kids wouldn't get anyways.
Love this film and I'm 20 going on 21.

It's actually nice to see the people who worked on BLT (not a sandwich) including Deanna Oliver as Toaster's voice,

I'm trying to picture a CGI/3D TBLT in my head... And it just doesn't look very appealing to the eyes, it seems. 2D BLT is what gives it charm. <3

OMG My physics teacher, Mr. Oliver, let it slip to my class that Deanna is his sister. My admiration for this film came full circle. :D
