It's the "American" Hall of Shame. The Guess Who and Rush are too Canadian for it and DP is too English. I just saw Purple last Saturday night and have a concert tee to prove it. Gillian, Paice, Glover, Airey and Morse. Ritchie couldn't play well with others. Say what you will about the current lineup but DP is still entertaining us. Nuff said.

Gillan was no "Crackhead" He is very boozed-out though at times. He has made a career out of bashing Blackmore over the last 15+ years in the press. The bottom line is simple. Blackmore is still an incredible guitar player. Gillan is a very "safe" singer who cannot sing the same notes anymore. He still has his identity, and that's more than most vocalists will ever have. But, Blackmore is by far the more prolific and vital musician, even in todays world.
