Final Fantasy 8 - Defeating X-ATM092 [NO Quezacotl/GFs]

I really loved the video & the time you put into it, yet you really don't need to do all of this. What I did was rush to the part where you can save the dog & fought X-ATM092 there. I used Quezacotl five times, one for each of the five repairs, then finishing X-ATM092 off. I know this video is old, yet I thought it would be interesting to share, if this isn't known already, which I'm sure it is, once again, the video was nice & hopeful.

there's an "easy" way to defeat it..... get Selphie to her limit break and wait to see "The End"

XD actually is a matter of luck to get The End, but it worked to me.

Nice, but to be honest I didn't needed so much stuff to beat it... I could beat im with Squall at lvl 14, fully compatible with Quezacotl and with 100 Water junctioned to their magic stat. |

Quezacotl needs to know Boost, as well as SumMag+10%, SumMag+20%

(even better if u have SumMag+30%, but I beat it without it).

Then at the fight, just do as you are told in the video.

PS: it can be killed after the bridge

whats wrong with using GF's? i used a turbo controller for the boost and got elem atk % learned. makes the fight more faster and easier.

Wrong: this boss can be beaten the second time you fight it (proved, by me xD). It's impossible on the first one.

I do have one viable critic to add: Using Squalls Limit Renzokuken would be more effective then Duel. As it does a lot more dmg, and is a lot more reliable. And also, with your current setup, you can control the crit (trigger), so most likely he'd go down to repair faster each time. Still, nice work! =)

I defeated yesterday this fucking boss, and i arrived to the beach at: 21:07.

Spider kill + escape in less than 9 minutes. Obviously Squall was high level =P, over 30 with Electro++ used by Double lol :D and Zell 15 / Selphie 8

junction system is truly a cheat once you figured out how it works. combine it with good card playing and turning lots of monsters into cards and using them to win against other card players to get more cards with the all card trade rule, can get you tornadoes and thundaga magic to junction to strength and attacking element

I just spammed Limit Breaks on this thing as it doesn't do much damage and keeping your HP in the yellow is quite safe. It's actually very easy to beat. Case in point, I just started a no-magic save (not no-junction, just no-magic) and still beat it.

This is helpful. Kinda wish I knew this before I defeated it my headache-inducing way. I sure didn't have Thundaga like you did, but I grinded my way a few more levels than your characters, and had some good Junction abilities.

No, I just used all my GF's with Boost abilities, and I used a turbo PlayStation controller to press the Square button faster. I'm a cheater XD

actually leveling up makes this game harder.

By playing cards and refining you can get good magic quite early in the game and thus can have awesome stats.

If you level up, enemies will too, so you´ll want a low level with high stats.

Is it possible to get a 100 points on everything? I defeated X-atm092 and got to the beach with 17 minutes remaining and I got rank 10. Then I tried not defeating X-atm092 and instead just running for it. I didn't get into any fights with it apart from the first one everyone encounters. I chased the dog away, didn't go in the pub, did the Infrit mission well and I got SeeD rank 9. O.o

i used to beat him many times (and change escaping sequence:quistis not rifles him) but I didn't know we could explode him.

Do you know you can use with Zell some attacks not yet learned by fighting books? Even specials attacks commands aren't shown in screen,you can use them (example: the attack when Zell hit da ground and makes rush a flame) and put to xatm092 great damages

it isnt hard to beat the spider robot just dont attack while it heals itself. use squalls renzenkoken as many times as possible make sure you aved up the pheanix downs replace draw with item to keep from losing and youll be fine

Easy, just do what he tells you in the video but don't level up (at all). That way, X-ATM092 will have low hp and low attack while you can kill it much easier. To not level up but get Ap (for abilities), just go to the beach and fight the fish for 6 Ap. Instead of killing them, use card so you wont get exp. It might take you a few hours to get all GF abilities/magic junctions and mods, but trust me, it will help you heaps later on. Also, diablos will be much easier later on.

Yeah, good point. If you are doing a no exp, and no level game, (perfect game) then it is impossible. You can't defeat X-ATM092 in less than 10 minutes so you have to avoid it to get the best seed rank. However, if you don't mind, get 20ap from ifrit (towards card) and fight 4 battles on the beach. Each battle gives you 6ap, so you can get the card ability quickly, and probably wont level up in the process. (it's about 100exp per battle)

You are doing a no-level game then huh? Isn't that impossible not to level up, because there are several parts of the game where you 'have' to fight enemies. Those of whom you cant use card or petrify. I don't mean bosses, because they don't give you exp. I mean like soldiers etc... I don't know?

When you have 'Card', use it on the enemies so you Ap, but no exp. Once you get card mod (which will only take 30 mins), then win some card games and get cards you can mod into... flare, thundaga, blizzaga etc... to junction to your stats. Then you'll find a few hours of getting ap and card games your characters can now hit for much more, yet the enemies remain the same since you haven't leveled.

As enemies will never get stronger, this will do for awhile. (maybe until disc 2)

diablos is easy if all three characters are level 30 or higher. rinoas invincable limit and squalls combo also play a great deal use another character to draw and cast demi on diablos trust me youlllove the effects

i just defeated it 2 days ago expect that i was using zell to summon quezacolt selphie the healing duty and i kept squall at low HP so that i can use his limit break

also i didnt kno that it was no use attacking it while it is in the reaparing states i could have saved a lot of attacks

Lulz, I think it's enough if you can beat the robot thing! If my characters were too "week" they probably would've died. And going to the junk shop isn't an option since you don't have the magazines/items to remodel your weapons. Or so I remember anyway, it's been a while since I've touched FF8...

Nah, you just run back to the shore where Quistis waits for you, then she just tells you go get on board and things proceed as normal.

Thanks. The Power Wrist gives a GF the Str + 40% ability, I think. And after Dollet has been liberated, you can attempt to go back into the Communications Tower but a guard will summon two robots to attempt to exterminate you but they end up collapsing and blocking your way. Pretty funny actually. :p

I don't think it's about being a certain level to beat Diablos, it's more about the technique you use. All you need to do is find the blind spell (which you'll find in the Dollet Tower drawpoint) to cast on him, and with a bit of luck it'll work so that none of his attacks can bring you down to more than 1 HP. Also if you draw Demi and then use on him, he casts Curaga on you for some reason. o.o So have the Draw and Magic command ready as well.

Best way to do this is to lvl up seifuer to 100

Also getting the 3rd lvl of magic.

After that Squall attack will be 1000+

Also time attack with 2 gfs and squall Limit one after another. then you win.

best thing to do is fight him every chance you get, once he's repairing for the first time, hit him with a big attack that will make him stop repairing half-way through. beat him down one more time, then run. you get 50 AP a pop which adds up to be 300 or something when it's all said and done.

I think it actually stops repairing itself when you've dealt a certain amount of damage to it. I normally defeat it after Selphie Has said "No More!" Once.

Also, I think what item you get as a reward for defeating the X-ATM092 depends on how long you've spent battling it. If you defeat it quickly, you'll get the oricalium (sp?) If you take long, you seem to get a force armlet instead.

i kill him without this preparation, i only draw double of elvoret and junction 100 double in squall str and 100 double in selphie magic, and one rezokuken and one slot with 3 thunder or 2 thundaras is enough to fall him, and he don't atack me until 5 falls.
