The origins of the Spinosaurus might actually be part of the main plot in the 4th film. In JP 3, Grant and Billy discuss it, with Billy remarking that he didn't remember the creature being on Ingen's list, which led Grant to wonder if John Hammond didn't tell him everything, or worse, that there might have been some shady projects going on behind Hammond's back on Isla Sorna.
Whatever, the case, the Spinosaurus is now the dominant predator on Sorna, and kills T-Rexes found within its territory.
I love all these internet scientists talking about all the proof for their dinosaur to be better than this or that. Archeology is about making educated guesses. Not to belittle them, I respect all the studying they do for their job, but they try to recreate the past based on assumptions from findings. Nobody will ever know for sure what rexie or spiny ate, they can just guess by drawing parallels to creatures that exist now.
T-Rex may have had a bigger brain, though I'm not completely sure it would have stronger jaws. and how can you know it has better vision. The Spinosaur may have been able to see a small animal form 700m distance or more. The Spinosaur may not have been as strong as the T-Rex but definitely more agile, combining it's inferior strength with it's superior agility/speed may have lead to the T-Rex being simply outsmarted by the Spinosaur, not being able to keep up to it's fast attacks and movement.
It was time to kill off T-Rex, there are more dinosaurs than raptors and rex ffs. Last thing they need are lame fans that can't let go, pressuring them to make a fourth installment about t rex and raptors again.
Spinosaurus is a great dinosaur and I believe it has power. The Tyrannosaurus Known to be a close relative to the modern Komodo Dragon. Komodo has one of the strongest land dweller bite forces. It's bite also includes venomous bacteria which is deadly enough to kill a water buffalo. Spinosaurus is rather closer to a Nile croc. The croc is much larger that the Komodo, but Komodo has a bite that will kill the croc in seconds. Therefore giving a strong example to their past relatives.
Who cares who's better. I personally like Spinosaurus over T Rex for alot of attributes, but I find the T Rex roar far more int imitating. So hears a thought, state who you like better and why but please for the love God stop arguing about it.

Spinosaurus is a cool, unique Dinosaur but it was real shitty of them to replace the T-Rex with it... i rather T-Rex be the main Dinosaur, an Spinosaurus had a diet of mostly fish an small land Dinosaur's so making it into a Godzilla-style animal in JP3 was beyond unrealistic and an incorrect portrayal of the animal.
Hopefully they bring the T-Rex back for Jurassic park 4.

His teeth were too skinny and jaw too narrow to put up a good fight against a T-Rex though - he'd break his jaw trying to hold something as big as him. On the other hand, he's perfectly well equipped to hunt humans... after he's done eating fish!

considering both dinos lived on diffrent continents and diffrent eras there can never be a real winner between the two in a fight and plus we can only suspect their habits in feeding. with the arms combined with the size of the spino it could have easily ripped apart other large prey the way a human can rip up a piece of meat with our teeth.

Spinos is bigger then T-Rex n Giga, but it is Not Stronger then either of them. The problem people have with it beating T-Rex is it would have died on the 1st bite to the neck, an they portrayed it as a Mini-Godzilla when in-fact it fed on Small land Dino's an Mostly Fish.
It did not have the Arm, Teeth, or Neck power to take down a T-Rex.
So Spino is good as it's own Dino but a Terrible replacement for T-Rex, aside from that I still think JP3 sucks, n is the worst n the Trilogy

Spinosaurus is a cool, unique Dinosaur but it was real shitty of them to replace the T-Rex with it... i rather T-Rex be the main Dinosaur, an Spinosaurus had a diet of mostly fish an small land Dinosaur's so making it into a Godzilla-style animal in JP3 was beyond unrealistic and an incorrect portrayal of the animal.
Hopefully they bring the T-Rex back for Jurassic park 4.

@XxComablackxX1937 They also shaped his teeth wrong. In the movie he pretty much just looks like a T-Rex with a fin on his back. But in reality Spino was way longer then T-Rex and true he lived by Water habbitats and only ate fish and little land dinosaurs only if it came down to it. True, he is NOT Godzilla. If he falls over once, his spine can break and hes dead.

@TheMysticWolfAura Fully agree 100%. The Spinosaurus is a neat dinosaur, but thanks to JP everyone thinks he's this hugely powerful tough guy. His teeth were too skinny and jaw too narrow to put up a good fight against a T-Rex though - he'd break his jaw trying to hold something as big as him. On the other hand, he's perfectly well equipped to hunt humans... after he's done eating fish!

considering both dinos lived on diffrent continents and diffrent eras there can never be a real winner between the two in a fight and plus we can only suspect their habits in feeding. with the arms combined with the size of the spino it could have easily ripped apart other large prey the way a human can rip up a piece of meat with our teeth.

the spinosaurus is actually bigger than a t-rex, it is the biggest of the theropods (if that's how you spell it) you can check it up on wikipedia and it's on the crocodillia family

@NJCOrr91 So were Giganotosaurus and Carchardontosaurus but its been proven that Rex had a far more advanced body design and musculature. Not to mention the enormous head filled with massive muscles allowing it to have the greatest bite strength to ever hit our planet. Spinosaurus was simply made to hunt fish and small dinos and nothing more.

@NJCOrr91 there is a bigger one actully , hes called dinocherus , all they found is a set of huge hands really huge, if they put him in the new film id love it wanted to see it for years on film as he would pick spino up and litrally throw him out of the park , check him on wiki , plus it would give the fx guys the chance to create there own really unseen dino in design aspects would be really cool.

Spinos is bigger then T-Rex n Giga, but it is Not Stronger then either of them. The problem people have with it beating T-Rex is it would have died on the 1st bite to the neck, an they portrayed it as a Mini-Godzilla when in-fact it fed on Small land Dino's an Mostly Fish.
It did not have the Arm, Teeth, or Neck power to take down a T-Rex.
So Spino is good as it's own Dino but a Terrible replacement for T-Rex, aside from that I still think JP3 sucks, n is the worst n the Trilogy

@MrOTK95 No, the spino isn't stronger than the t-rex, the spino has a little more agility than the t-rex and because its arms aren't as small. if it had arms as small as the t-rex's the t-rex would have won possibly.

i tihnk everyone should know that the spinosaurus may be the biggest meat consumer but it most certainly couldn't beat a T-rex. They mainly eat fish and they're necks are so long so theycan reach the fish in the water.

Jurassic Park 3 is OK to watch but its awful compared to the other two.
when I was younger and saw it in theaters I fell in love with spino the minute he snapped T-Rexs neck!
I was dissapointed that Rudy from Ice Age 3 was a baryonyx I thought he was a spinosaurus.(he is an unseen character till the end) But hes cool looking anyway.
