Not true. Consider that "scientists and engineers" need support services like everyone else. Think food, medical, janitorial, information services, transport, etc.
Yeah always wanted to work on an offshore oil rig, just for the experience. hard to get on if you worked in the waterwell industry. No one wants to give you a chance. Shame I'm decent hand.Work hard

Your loss. I work offshore(much shallower water than this) and It is the best job I have ever had.

I see it looks like a fixed structure, How deep are you? the deepest fixed structure I know of is in 650 feet of water in the green canyon 89 block.
I have been wanting to make a video at my place but I keep getting turned down for a hotwork permit.
