  • U would not get me working on one of them!

  • Your loss. I work offshore(much shallower water than this) and It is the best job I have ever had.

To the owner of the video:

I see it looks like a fixed structure, How deep are you? the deepest fixed structure I know of is in 650 feet of water in the green canyon 89 block.

I have been wanting to make a video at my place but I keep getting turned down for a hotwork permit.

  • This particular platform is around 400 feet.

Yeah, the permit for taking my camera out was a special request. We lucked out. Of course, I had to not only go through the paperwork but also make damn sure the flash didn't go off on the camera. You can hear the gas detector that we carried around just in case.

  • cool place! but only scientists and engineers can be there :(

  • Not true. Consider that "scientists and engineers" need support services like everyone else. Think food, medical, janitorial, information services, transport, etc.

  • i dont see any drilling goin on there

  • Yeah always wanted to work on an offshore oil rig, just for the experience. hard to get on if you worked in the waterwell industry. No one wants to give you a chance. Shame I'm decent hand.Work hard

  • This is not a drilling rig, this seems to be a production platform.

  • Well they were UNDER the rig, not on the floor!!!

  • Yep Production Platform
