So if I claim that there are millions of witnesses that saw Santa, does that mean you will believe in Santa? Cuz apparently that is a solid argument....?
Atheism is a position as long as at least 1 person understands that position - it exists.
Faith is like rose colored glass you see god every because the world looks pink.
Most atheists have abandoned the idea of God for lack of evidence beyond .reasonable doubt.
People including Paul of Tarsus can imbue hallucinations with meaning. The halucination is a real thing - a malfunction of the brain, but illusion it creates is **illusion**. This is assuming the story isn't a fiction.
So...Atheists don't exist because they would have to believe that organized religion's god doesn't exist based upon incredible amounts of data from every branch of scientific study, but "believers" totally exist because they unquestionably adhere to a book written in the Bronze Age, when the Earth was flat, mice could spontaneously generate in bags of flower, and everyday things like weather patterns had no rational explanation; or the redux written a couple of millenia ago...
2. Is not about the crucifixion and it's more about David not Jesus (Psalm 22)
3. Prophecies are easy to make when your writing the book afterwards (Zechariah 9:9)
4. Prophecies are easy to make when your writing the book afterwards (Isaiah 53:5)
5. No contemporary evidence about these supposed 500 eyewitnesses that supposedly saw resurrected Jesus and the 500 people are not mentioned in the gospels
fuck sake, it's so ignorant... yes, no one can prove god doesn't exist, but you can't he does either. you do not have any raw evidence, you only have a little book that you worship because someone told you so.
I understand why you think this to be true. I consider myself an atheistic agnostic. I used to word it the other way around but I wisened up and the truth is that I believe that there is as much chance there is a God as there is that I will wake up and find faries dancing around my garden. There are true atheists though that just believe there is no God, nor any supernatural being whatsoever. That is a sort of faith itself, I admit, but a faith that does not believe in any deity.
Clearly you don't know what the word, "atheist," means.
Also, you don't know what the word, "agnostic," means either. Agnostics suspend all judgment and choose not to believe in one side or the other. Atheists believe that there is, in fact, no God, or at least view the existence of God as highly unlikely.
As for everyone, "secretly believing in God," well, you're wrong. You are clearly uncultured and lack worldly experience. When you get a little older, try your arguments again.
Why do idiots like you not get what being an atheist is? It is not a BELIEF that there is not god. It is the LACK OF BELIEF that there is. If you don't understand the difference, I pity you. And another thing.. Are you saying that if there is no punishment from god for it, you would have no problem with killing old ladies. YOU SIR ARE ONE SICK FUCK!!! Do the world a favor and put your toe on the trigger of that shotgun.
I am a professional comedian so i'll explain it to you this way. I am a true atheist. I believe myself that there is no god. I have my own understandings of life that excludes the role of a god and i base it on science and human interaction (between people of the same religion or different).
I would rather be a good person on my own, helping people how they need it, then go to hell for not believing something that had to be advertised to me.
why do you have a gun? shouldn't you just have faith god will protect you? also, you can not kill someone unless god tells you to, the bible says so lol. atheism means you lack a beleif in god, it is NOT saying that you know a god is not real but that you do not beleive a god exists. if i use your "logic" then you would HAVE to beleive that theists do not exist. also, do you REALLY beleive that no atheist can do good? if you do i would have to say that you are a complete douchebag
But if Atheism doesn't exist... why am I an Atheist? I am 15 years old, and even I know that Atheism, Christianity, and all the other religions do exist if one believes in it, but that doesn't mean any religion is true. If I go to hell because I don't believe (anymore), that's my problem. Same goes with you if your beliefs backfire.
I'm not trying to convert you in any way, so please don't take this the wrong way, and I'm not mad either, I'm just correcting your video title.
There is no way for a Christian to know everything in the universe to prove that there is a god and they are not mistaken.
There is no way to even trust your own mind, as even mental patients will believe in the voices in the head. As even people of other religions will believe what they feel or hear is the verification of their own religion.
No one can know and objectively prove all their feelings or assumptions.
Right, and you are saying that with the limited amount of knowledge that you do have, that you believe that god does exist. What's your point, son? Beliefs are not the same as episteological assertions of knowledge, Just because you equivocate your beliefs with knowledge claims doesn't mean everyone else is too.
A Christian doesn't know whether or not there is a God either. Belief is not the same thing as knowing, belief is faith, faith is trust. I may trust that the chicken my mom cooked is going to taste good but I can never know for sure until I've actually tasted it.
And yes, you can't use the Bible to prove the Bible without using provable historical fact as a meter stick. Well, you can, but it's not effective to for a nonbeliever.
you are just as much agnostic as any atheist. Nothing can know everything, this is a circular argument.
i do not assume a god exists. i have no reason to look for god , or gods. There is no evidence one exists. Would you look for a Sasquatch in your back yard for the rest of your life because your friend told you one was there? Maybe ?
If there was foot prints maybe...
but my backyard is small enough , and theres no foot prints . i would get rid of my crazy friend.
I actually felt like I was mentally becoming stupider about 1 minute into this video. Seriously, logical arguments need logic and facts. Anything based on a "god" just can't be proven, no matter how you spin your words. My question is where are all the alleged miracles?
No one HAS to disprove god. If I told you I have an invisible troll living in my backyard, would you automatically assume what I said is true? I would hope not because disbelief (ie skepticism) is the default position for any person who bases their experience of reality on OBJECTIVE evidence.
YOU have to prove god's existence, as the burden of proof lies with the one making the positive claim. I mean common, this is basic knowledge that's been around since ancient Greece.
@TheHomelessCripple..this guy is so stupid. He never provided any evidence..all he really has is his "objective morality" which is BS...no empirical evidence..yet he claims evolution has no lab work done...I wonder if God has been observed in a lab..I wonder if his imaginary Jesus pal was observed in a lab...?
Where theism is a belief in a god or gods and the prefix 'a' means 'without, lack of, absence of', adding the prefix 'a' to the root word 'theism' literally means 'lack of/absence of/without belief in a god or gods.'
Theism pertains to belief and Gnosticism pertains to knowledge. I'm an agnostic atheist. Who are you to assume what I don't believe? Are you a god?
I don't see how you can say that atheists don't exist. It is perfectly possible for a person to seriously believe that your god or any god does not exist. Just like it is possible for a person to not believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet or not believe anything else you could name. I'm pretty sure you don't believe that my god, Cernunnos exists. Does that mean you don't exist?
Maybe you should ask yourself this....Why does the existence of atheists cause you so much angst ? It kind of reminds me of the virulent anti-gay politicians and pastors that we later find out are actually gay themselves. ie: Haggard, Foley, Craig, Reikers, Shrock, Allen, etc.
@AshesWasHerName...I don't think he even reads comments that challenge him...obviously he's an idiot that doesn't learn that none of his arguments is proof.
I see you have been corrected on your definition of atheism..... Did you know that the existence of even just one atheist proves that the god of the bible does not exist? It's true... so like a square circle I don't need to know everything to know that the biblical god is impossible.
This makes me depressed that I'm created by humans o.O
For God to exist there must be an 11 dimensional singularity. If God affects reality a ripple will be evident. If you cannot find that ripple then God does not exist. If a god doesn't exist I'm a gnostic atheist and if one does I'm a deist. None of you apes have it right. No human religion is correct, especially not the abrahamic religions. Why would someone worship such a vile and wicked creature as the abrahamic god? It is inferior
Your definition of agnostic is flawed, likewise atheism.
AGNOSTIC IS not a belief position. It's a knowledge statement. To describe a person as an agnostic is false. Agnostic of what? It's a word you need to attach to some system.
I highly recommend checking the history of the Bible. The Bible is demonstrably false, it's literally a crop out. It's been edited and manually changed completely. It's literally a piece of fiction... in the setting of injections of possible plausible things.
(continued) Quick correction. Agnostic: Knowledge of gods is unknowable. Sorry about that. Most agnostics I know believe there is something out there, brain fart. Anyway, there are also different facets of agnosticism and different ones of atheism. In short, my position on unicorns sums it up. They're in some stories, I think they're just stories and haven't seen anything to indicate otherwise, so I don't believe in them.
You don't need to disprove god to be atheist. You don't need to have any particular proofs or beliefs to be an atheist. For example, YOU are an atheist when it comes to Zeus, Odin, and Ra. To be Agnostic means you believe there are gods, somewhere, but that we can't know anything about them. Atheism is simply: the same way the existence of unicorns is unlikely, so are gods, so I don't believe in them. Of course there are different facets, and even ANTI theism.
how can you say that you love me, and imidiatly say brutal and cruel things?
I'm sure you're a nice person, but if you are following a religion that tells you to say hurtfull things to those you love, maybe you should rethink some things.
I don't have to know everything to disprove God you're setting up a false dichotomy. YOU don't know everything therefore you cannot state that God can only be disproved when one has total knowledge of everything. In Fact I doubt you can Prove God. I Bet you can't even Coherently define God. I'd love to see you try. I prove Atheism since I'm an Atheist. Do you believe in the Gods Zeus? Attis? Chac? Yemaya? No because you are an Atheist to them. Thus proving Atheism since you are one.
You could call me a gnostic atheist. I don't believe any of the human created deities exist. You actually can disprove god ^_^
If God exists it is 11 dimensional. If it is 11 dimensional (which it must be to exist) then it will leave a ripple in 4 dimensional space all the way back to the beginning. If you can find that ripple you can show that a god exists. If you cannot then god does not exist. Go look for the alpha/omega singularity ^_^
JesusLovinBuddy, you have to define what this thing you call 'god' is before we can falsify it. Thus far, I haven't met a single christian capable of providing a hard positive ontological description of this entity?/phenomenon? specifically the character called 'god' in the bible who some have named "Yahweh" (others named Jehova depending on which parents you were born to) and not just some generalized nebulous 'supreme being'. So yeah, atheists don't exist, and neither do theists.
By your reasoning, theists don't exist either. You would have to know everything there is to know to be absolutely certain that there is no evidence that could prove that god doesn't exist. Plus, you can never know with total certainty that you aren't simply insane.
So it seems we're all agnostic, since there's no way for us to be 100% certain of anything. If only there was a way to differentiate between the agnostics who do believe in god, those who don't, and those who just aren't sure...
@JohnHenryAlex Lol this debate is getting lengthy. Most historians, viewing the gospels as historical text, not religious text say that the gospels are mostly not eye-witness accounts, just based on eye-witness accounts of many. If Jesus was prophesied, like seen in the Isaiah (which is considered by historians to be written before Christ, with prophecies of him), then doesn't that have huge implications?? I strongly encourage you to read the book of Luke with and open mind. Last comm lol
@JohnHenryAlex Yea, I see were your coming from; however, Historians, when looking at this particular time period, see writings 30 years (even 100) after an event as very close, and likely yo be reliable, if they are founded on earlier texts (For example, the earliest form of the Qu'ran was written 125 years after death, and Hillel, one of Israels most significant rabbis had his views first written 200 years after, and historians still consider it reliable!) cont..
@JohnHenryAlex Jesus was buried in a rich man's grave, and was whipped (stripes part). There is so much more you have to read it for yourself, more examples in Isaiah include ch 29 and chapter 25 (found these myself). check this link for dead sea scrolls (links wont work because youtube stops me), ill send in message. Thanks, probs my last comment.
@JohnHenryAlex The dead sea scrolls were written BEFORE the birth of Jesus, and as always, certain Atheists (not all, you seem like a nice guy) want to do their best to flaw any of the writings. The dead sea scrolls contains hundreds of books (scrolls), one of those books was Isaiah, and in Isaiah 53 (Contained in scrolls) it says this ''he was wounded for our transgressions ... and with his stripes we are healed .. and with a rich man in his death.'' cont..
@JohnHenryAlex ... and when Pilate... condemned him to the cross ... And up until this very day the tribe of Christians, named after him, has not died out.'' (I didn't mention everything because it would have taken up too much space.) Celsus, a Greek near the time, wrote a book called 'True Doctrine', which contained these words (Very anti-Christian) 'Having tried his hand at certain magical powers (Jesus) ... and on account of these powers gave himself the title God'. I have many more. cont..
@JohnHenryAlex I want to address the external sources thing first (sorry I didn't give any specific evidence last time). Josephus, a first century Jewish aristocrat, military general and historian. He wrote an account of the entire history of the Jewish people. More was written in his paragraph about Jesus than anything else. (he was anti-christian). ''at this time there appeared Jesus ... a doer of startling deeds, a teacher of people who received truth with pleasure. cont...
@JohnHenryAlex (which is likely to be the case, because the gospels are so accurate.) Also, there are actually many people of the time who claim to have witnessed his resurrection, and his miracles, and then wrote about them. (which weren't included in the bible) So, according to the evidence I have demonstrated, Jesus is who he said he was.
@JohnHenryAlex How do you think Jesus could have made up miracle after miracle, yet alone his resurrection? The gospel accounts depict very accurately the events of Jesus's life, (according to historians), which leads me to conclude that Jesus is who he says he is. We have the old testament prophesying of a man to die for our sins (and very unique sections of his life), and then we have a historical figure come along and fulfil these prophecies directly, cont.
@JohnHenryAlex I am glad you said that, I will explain why it isn't circular reasoning. I'm sure you've heard of the dead sea scrolls right? If you haven't, research them. This was an archaeological find that contained some of the books in the old testament. (which were identical to the modern old testament - more evidence) The significant thing about this is that they were written BEFORE Jesus came; however, then there's a problem, what if Jesus read these and did everything they said? cont..
Well, certain gods can be logically disproven. Yhwh for example, is logically fallacious, if you take the bible literally and verbatim.

Nothing to die for, nothing to fight for
If those in this life are not sacred, then nothing that's a part of it is sacred either

Of course there are different facets, and even ANTI theism.

so you don't deny that FSM , Vishnu exist, you only BELIEVE they don't exist, based on your limited knowledge,

hold on just a second.
you're saying atheists dont exist and cant disproof god because they think they dont need to know everything..
but where do you get your knowledge of god from? huh?
you get it from a "book" its a philosophy, its not an absolute truth.
THERE IS NO ABSOLUTE TRUTH THAT WE KNOW OF.
the whole atheist-theist fight is completely useless.
its just a childish fight over an opinion on life, get over it already and create your own truth.

2:24 "...I love you anyways"
2:34 "[you] are corrupt, [your] deeds are vile"
how can you say that you love me, and imidiatly say brutal and cruel things?

By the way its Yeshua not Jesus.

There is no evidence for your deity - the end. It is completely irrelevant whether or not atheists know everything.

I don't need to know everything in order not to believe in the existence of a god.

@DeimosSaturn "you have to define what this thing you call 'god' is before we can falsify it."
I agree but we need a Coherent definition not just some old thing pulled out of someones dirty sock.
JesusLovinBuddy Give us all a coherent definition of God Since everyone knows God this should be easy for a True believer.
GodKillerAtheist 1 year ago

(which weren't included in the bible) So, according to the evidence I have demonstrated, Jesus is who he said he was.
sneakytanderson 1 year ago
@JohnHenryAlex How do you think Jesus could have made up miracle after miracle, yet alone his resurrection? The gospel accounts depict very accurately the events of Jesus's life, (according to historians), which leads me to conclude that Jesus is who he says he is. We have the old testament prophesying of a man to die for our sins (and very unique sections of his life), and then we have a historical figure come along and fulfil these prophecies directly, cont.
sneakytanderson 1 year ago
@JohnHenryAlex I am glad you said that, I will explain why it isn't circular reasoning. I'm sure you've heard of the dead sea scrolls right? If you haven't, research them. This was an archaeological find that contained some of the books in the old testament. (which were identical to the modern old testament - more evidence) The significant thing about this is that they were written BEFORE Jesus came; however, then there's a problem, what if Jesus read these and did everything they said? cont..
