  • The 7 Dislike for despising the poor and poverty shall wear in their own shoe when the time and place is ripe.

  • Chrsitians fundamental teaching is absolutely right as the same as buddhism. The people who use the name of christian name and do evil deed. They will deserve bad karma in return. Anyway i am buddhist from Soka Gakkai. What i know abt christian is the same as buddhist who love people with passion and help, save, preach for the most need and the least. So stop saying Christian is evil!! Is the Human are the evil not christian bible book!!!!

  • thank you for making this video! My mom is from Laos

  • wow this has made me think of how thankful i am

  • Has anyone from the video been back to Laos since this video was made? Any money raised? Can you tell me if there's been an updated video or photos? Thank you for sharing :)

  • i hope the rapid growth in technology will be able to feed these people and provide them with plenty of water

  • I was born there, live there for 10 year of my life. I learn how to cook, clean and help out on the farm when I was 6 years old. I live day by day because of where we live. We don't have the things like most people have in life but, we're happy. I was a few lucky people that made it this far in life. I will never forget where I live or where I was born but, I will always try to get better in life everyday.

  • Hey, does anyone know if this is a primary source? I'm doing a project on poverty in Laos.

    thanks

  • Im sorry for everyone living in poverty in Laos.

  • Yes you are all good ideas from philosophers, but what the Bible really teach?

As it says: IN the beginning God created the heavens and earth. Genesis 1:1, 1: 27. And God proceeded to creat the man in his image, in God's image he created him male and female he created them. If anyones wish to know more about the true God, please try to study the Bible and draw close to him in prayer.Thanksfulgiving to all, May Almighty God bless you.

  • CYEPADAECK: I think is humorous that you try to make a statement about unfair justice in comparison with Christianity. I hope you realize throughout history Christianity has made a bloody gruesome impact on cultures and colonies. Beheadings and torture for those that refuse or question Christiantiy.

  • We don't think we should let the actions of the past determine our current or future responses to poverty. As Christians or non-Christians.

  • Well said!!!!

  • tht right we shuld help and try to make a difrence if evry wrking person in europe will donate even small thing it can change a lot there really

  • ekiezama, I'm glad you understand some of the things about Laos, Laos is a beautiful country in some parts. I disagree and agree on alot of things that people do over there. The people that have a car to drive, has way to make money and live in a better part of the country than other are selling themself short. I saw alot of the music video from there and it's embarassing to see what alot of the girls do just for a few dollars. The music videos producers is embarrassing the country.

  • There's alot of people not as lucky as us. I help my 10 familes member in Laos since I was old enoght to get a job. I still do but, not as much. Everytime I thought about it, it made my tears drop. I was like one of them before and I just wish I can help all of them but, I can't. So my tears will always goes to them. My best wish to all of the people that live in that part of the country. People, don't complain of what you have. You'll always want to be better but, be happy for what you got.

  • i live currently with a isaan ladys she is an angel and i go smoetimes spend some weekend in laos i ve seen how wonderful this people are , very kind and alwais available , laotian people much better then thai , laotian and isaan very similar

  • your right many people can preshad wht a good lifes we hjave over there copAare to others..... great job you care about your familly there

  • My heart goes out to these people! Why is this area soo poor

  • because africa has poor soil fertility and water availability.. and you can't base a civilisation on poor food and water access.. the reason africans have darker skin was because generation upon generations would spend long hours gathering food and water in the sun.. it is the mark of a harsh, unforgiving land..

  • Laos is in Asia not Africa!

  • we all hope to have the better live. What's if we can freely beleive in so many many god that i then may think at lease may Have one GOD can help.Dear LaoPeoplesArmy I totaly agree with you .Laos have improved a lot with every where . I have only one more question if you may please respond to why our government and in many local officials don't allow to have any freely believe in Chistianity.I hope our government open up to more and more demoncracy. May GOD blesse our government and our country.

  • Religious persecution and crusades made in the name of Christ where today you filter out the bad part of your religion excusing it for the individuals. Even in modern views, a religion that attempts to strike fear in people to believe in one GOD or suffer eternal hell. I don't think its much different from what you're trying to say here.

  • Thank you for sharing this video

  • yeah, we have family in LAOS, its very poor. I want to go to visit my family soon.

  • I sincerely believe all government is responsbile for their people....the Laotian government, the rich can do more but they choose not to!

  • Democratic republic? Yeah right!

  • I've been to Laos, and they really need help. It's incredible how with all this poverty and problems they still remain friendly, and with a continuous smile towards everyone.

  • This video was put 2getha very well it deeply touches me in soo many ways, its soo sad 2 c dat people unfortunetly live like dis outside of da US.. Its endlessly heartbreaking..

    *Kaisong is GORGEOUS.

  • Thank you for this very informational (and heartbreaking) video.

  • i am Laos, and ive been there and seen this...

  • its so sad to see others people living like this.... wish they could have a better life

  • SOO TRUE!!

    N. Viet puppets took over Laos, gosh, no one believed me!!

also, i heard rumors that laos is a puppet state too for Vietnam (not sure, citations needed)

besides, in Vientiane, they dont have fridges at the market the meat just dries up in the sun, cant wait to get papaya over there :D

  • it is not about whos right whos wrong but to acknowledge that laos has a huge problems. How can we solve them. Thats what we all need to focus of attention on. U stupid dumb ppl need to grow up and learn to accept that there are problems and think of what u can do instead of wasting ur time denying everthing and defending ur big ego that there isnotthing wrong.

  • I am crying all along watching this video. I hope there will be changes soon in my home country, Laos. When I was in Laos, before 1975I never saw anything like this. Lao ppl never suffer such a hardship before the North Vietnan puppets took over Laos.

  • Thank for taking this Video, it must take you alot of time. Let send this Video to the President and prime minister of Lao with all his government see what can they do about it.

Maybe it is also good idea to show this Video to Bush west world God Father, see what he going to say about the bombs that US droped in Lao 30 years ago caused all these trouble.!Maybe if they think they are human right liberator maybe they can do something to help these people. All these thing is caused by white people

  • I appreciate this tube very much. Laos is the poorest country of the world. This small country has more than 50 minorities running from Yunnan into this land from thousands and thousands years ago and still now. It is a Paradise for them. Many Chinese from Yunnan and Viets. It is said that in Laos they will have something to eat like in this tube. Everywhere you can build a hut to sleep without to be official homeless people. Laos cannot assure humburg for every one.

  • Many American ppls...homeless! ?!@#$%

  • i dont understand why some lao ppl get defensive. I dont understand how is it that you are not frustrated and mad at the ways things are in laos??? If you really care about your country, you would get mad as hell with the rate of progress in laos and with the performance of the leadership of laos. if the ceo of a company is incompetent they get replaced. They are held accountable for their performance. Laos cannot afford to let incompetent ppl drag the country down forever.

  • let it be, there is nothing left in laos, laos is now the 4th world, poorest country in the whole world,,,look at the government, what can they do, they are sooo corupted, red laos, communist, always begging for monies from the rich countries, kick the communist out and turn the country into democracy soon lao will turn into a industrilized country like many others, lao need to stop killing the smart and wealthy people in loas, lao sucks, eat shit and die...

  • You say Lao suck, I guess your momma must not be Laos. I'm Lao and live in US and I'm proud of it. Why don't you tell yourself eat your own shit and die.

  • This comment is for Azian2008 only.

  • this video only shows the countryside of laos... go to vientian nothing like this

  • america only take 400 years to built to what it is today. laos exist longer than that and still lack basic necessties like roads. we asians should stop humuliating ouselves. talk some sense!damn...

  • This video is an exageration. Laos is poor, but not to that extent.

  • it tells you at the begining of the video where Laos is!! Its a land-locked country between Thailand,China,Vietnam and Cambodia. Its a communist state. Its also the most bombed country in the world.. thanks to your nation

  • Where are laos ppl ??? This is an example of a failure of the head of a country or a family. I wanna talk to the president of laos. Whoever made this video, you should show this to the president of laos.

  • loso,

There are poor and depressed communities all over the world. Not all Laos is like that. Yeah, Laos is poor country in Western Standard. However, there are community in Laos that are well off. The Lao Government are doing everything they could to modernize the country. Unfortunately, the lack of resource are hampering the Laotina Government's progress.

  • yeah seriously I have been to laos three times yes there are poor places but not so rediculous

  • poppin,

There are elements of the old regime that haven't come to term with their defeat. Everything they see happening in the Lao PDR must be manipulated and exaggerated to meet their sinister scheme.

  • You know some laotian people in america went home and came back telling other laotians that " oh you know laos now aday is jalern lea dai " meaning that laos is prosperous or developed. Whenever i hear that i would be like oh really?? I have a hard time thinking that laos under their current pattern of thinking is prosperous or going to be prosperous anytime soon.

  • loso,

Laos are making progresses. Though, not to your expectation or liking. But, the question is, who the heck are you? To us Laotian, living in Laos, every little progress counts!

  • kaisong is 3 years old?? thats impossible

  • shes 7 years old.

  • i wanna live in LAOS...it's a nice country!

  • can you please tell me how to sign up for the 40 hour famine?

i would lovee to help! i just need instructions on how to get involved! :)

  • im laos and ive been back and had a very hard enduring life we take so many things for granted its a shame my sponcers a local journalist and a court judge got my mom to america losing two children already she just wanted us me and my brother to have a good future and not go through what she did.. i just want to say thank you for people who care or laos people would say khop chai

  • I went back this past summer for my grandfather 100 days mourning ceremony and that was my first since I came to the U.S. over 25 years already. It was sad for me to see all of this going on back home and wanted to help everyone out. All of Lao people needs to stick together. With love

  • Wow makes me sick seeing this knowing that kids were stuffing their faces with Halloween treats tonight.

  • this is a fake ass ad controlled by the rockefellars. them oney never goes to the 3rd world countries, its just to hold them back. the west cant have a third world country go into a 1st world. why do you think all the billions of dollars that goes towards africa never gets to the fuckin ppl, cuz the money is to fund the warlords to turn that place into chaos while other countries extract its resources.

  • should invest in a condum the dumb bitch

  • they don't even have money to buy food, what more for condom..you idiot!

  • wow you are so freakin mean.

    get a heart bastard.

  • You should think before you open your mouth and talking shit about our people. I'll fuck you up in person if I can so shut the fuck up. We don't have it made like people in other areas. So fuck off

  • you're a dumb ass izawhtthg4 condum??? think before you start talking shiet they're straving no money for food you're ass got the nerves to talk about condom.. just for saying that I think you're the dumb one

  • XxX0PiE0XxX is surely an idiot. Laos' population is only 6.5 million.

  • where is this girl? give me the address i will send her some money here is my phone number my name is vilapanh pete sopraseuth 1 614 805 5651

  • Stop world hunger. Eat the Samaulians.

  • Come on guys, they dont get state aid to look after all their kids, just send them some money so they can feed the ones they have, then make more.

  • i hope whoever made this video clip would be able to help this family financially, how could you made this such sickening footage and only to wait for the response of any donation? rather then it's to late for the family involve.

  • I wonder how much the camera they are using costs. If kaisong was smart she would rob the camera crew and then she could eat

  • Crap. That area need a Roosevelt-style TVA. The Tennessee Valley used to look like this.

  • bitch(mona1950) listen to the narrator of the clip the lady went blind when she was "YOUNG" so that would mean she had kids befor she went blind duhhh! i hope you use birth controll cause what we don't need is more people like you.

  • Its a hard life.... but they still have the strength to make babies that face starvation. How selfish is that!

  • Have u ever heard of Survival of the fittest??? Cull the herd? Only the strong

     survive??? Meh.

  • wow Maharg23, are u stupid or smth? 'useless'?? well, if u were one of them u wouldnt call urself that now would u?

some of these comments on youtube really make me wonder if they were written by humans or aliens...

  • wow I just wish I could do more to help these people, Im only 15 so i dont really have much money, could someone tell me a food doner/clothing doner? Would be helpful thankyou

  • Why does a blind woman with no job, no crops, no hope, have 2 children. I guess because she HAS NO BIRTH CONTROL! When every woman has the ability to control her birth rate, the world will be a better place with less misery and starvation. But if you can't buy food, how do you buy birth control? Too bad Mother Theresa helped people die in dignity instead of helping them live better by reducing their numbers and making their future better. Birth control is what these people need next after food

  • mona1950: you are absolutely correct in saying what this blind mother needed was birth control. She went blind when she was YOUNG long before she had THREE children. These Aid Organizations never provide birth control for these poor women, but just make off their miserable suffering. ESSURE birth control device is inserted in through the cervix and requires no surgery and is permanent.

  • no, that would be true in europe where you get free money from the goverment when ur old, when youre sick, when you dont have a job etc and where you can easily get medecine and care. but in SE asia grown up kids are to support their parents when they get old and cannot work anymore. they have to look after them, take care of their house, feed them, provide them enough money to live.

if this woman didnt have any children or extended family, who would take care of her?

  • the hmong people that are posting rude comments about Laos are just angry they dont have their own country maybe cuz there's not enough of u? and stop acting like u guys are the only victims in Laos.

  • I married into a Lao family and when we went back there I was forever impacted by the poverty. Politics aside, these people do need help.

For all those making such idiotic comments, why aren't you doing somthing about your local poverty then??? Spend your energy helping someone rather than cutting down those that are trying to help.

  • Yes its wonderful isnt it

  • Hello everyone. I am from laos too. I have 14 children and life is very hard. If you send money I can continue to have more children. Thanks.

  • why you make your life so tough to yourself, 14 children is too many and want to have more???? what a strange thinking!!!

  • lol dear...she's just kidding! 14 children is too much...she never had 14 children..

  • beirutpeter if u live in a 3rd world nation u wasted time and money to get internet electricity and i computer just to say i have 14 kids lifes very hard gimme some money and ill have more kids!god ur an idiot!!

  • lol daear..she never had 14 children..she's just kidding..u know how southeast asian people joke....just the west thinking couldn't absorb it..

  • Oh man this is sooo sad. and some of you are saying that it's not our problem & we shouldn't be giving them money and it's the country's fault... Well guess what? THese kind of things are happening everywhere not just in Asia or Africa it happens in the U.S. in california, in Texas, everywhere guys so don't say it's just them cous it's this country too.

  • dumb politicians in the South East Asian countries cannot manage their country correctly, and this is the exact result. Look at Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia

the horrible part is that their government stands in the way of aid

  • that's the way the south east asian governments approach this kind of situation. they don't have the initiative to act right away to rescue their people. Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia are worst in south east asia.

  • mother nature suffers, so do these nations. it didn't use to be like this.

  • Dude I hope someone steals everything you own, that you are left with no money and etc. then I'll send you some fuckin rubber bands. YOU ARE A SICK and UNEMPATHETIC PERSON. YOU ARe an asshole for making a joke about people, who on a daily basis face death, while you get to live a life filled with comforts. YOu should have your comforts striped away from you.

  • And what have YOU done to help the kids in the next town??? Let me guess...

  • I donate food. I donate clothes and other things. I cenrtainly do my part....

  • Maharg23... with that attitude, I don't believe you are doing your part... Or you do everything with your own agenda with no compassion involved... and knowing there are kids suffering ANYwhere and still saying boohoo there is no way you could be a parent.

  • this is a growing world crisis i think we all need to pitch in and solve this horrible crisis going on in tons of the world. but im just a kid, what do i know?

  • Thats horrible.

Im totally subcribing to you guys

    ;____;

  • om mani padme hum

  • Unfortunately there is a lot of corruption and theft in the one party "communist" state. Seems to me that there needs to be a way to get aid directly to the people who need it without having to send funds through the government....

  • why not turn into Facist government and make the country grow. Horrible lao people, make people suffer.

  • ສປປລເປັນປະເທດທຸກທີ່ສູດໃນໂລກ ນຳພາໂດຍ ຄມນ ພັກໂທນ ຄອບຄົວດຽວຄອງເມືອງ

  • its isn't easy to do good deeds isn't?

  • That's one way to survive.

  • I know this life very well, I lived it as a child. The situation is not going to change soon until those people whose in power STOP enriching themselves and give a little to millions of Lao people like this little girl and her family.

  • laos may seem beautiful here, but if you know what's going on out there in the jungle of laos it's not so beautiful. They are a filthy communist country who kills, raped, and tortured women, young girls and many families. Don't let this country fool all of you of being beautiful, because behind this beauty there are killing secrets. Want more info go to youtube Hmong tortured and you'll see what I'm talking about. Thanks! much love and save your money& go elsewhere much beautiful.

  • u can't blame all Lao's people for Hmong's being tortured... its happened everywhere. You dont have a right to judge people, you can hate their actions but leave the judging to someone like God. People like u dont have room to speak.

  • my mom is from cambodia this is some of thing things she delt with as a child, poverty.

  • A Corrupt "Puppet" Government is only "as good" as their "Crook" Puppet Masters....

"The World Knows Who They Are"

  • As much as I appreciate the work that world vision does, I would suggest that anyone wanting to contribute to the fight against extreme poverty think carefully about which aid organisations they contribute to. While world vision does good work they fail on two fronts....

  • ...First their sponsor a child program seems to be inefficient when compared with the community based programs that other organisations pursue. Second they are a Christian based aid organisation and Christian aid has been known to compromise their aid because of ideology. The distribution of contraception to aids infected areas is a case in point. In my view Oxfam is a much better alternative and one of the best aid organisations in the world.

  • They do have compassion, they are just very good at selectivly using it. Most people would dive into a pond to save a drowing child, but when it comes to children suffering from extreme poverty they do nothing. I think that fact that these children come from an alien culture and look different has a lot to do with it.

  • Excellent task! On the broader fix to those shown here, have you seen the news article on an East Indian businessman who has begun to loan money to needy people. The idea is to build an economic base from grassroots by making small loans available to villagers, farmers to start businesses, improve homes, whatever. See if you can start a group like that in each of the places you work, for all their tomorrows.

  • Nice suggestion, but will it create loan sharks?

  • I'm referring to the suggestion of lending needy people money. Most money lenders are not kind people, but people looking for money making opportunities. Look at the banks and the high interest rates of loans.

  • Corporate executives laugh when they see poor people starving to death.

  • That is a little bit of a generalization, but yes many people don't do anything in their lives to help children like kaisong. Instead or putting it back on the 'coroporate execs' why don't you, yourself take action againts what is happening.

  • 太感人的故事,谢谢!

  • 您是一個非常好人

  • Progressivism (communism) has failed the citizens of Laos just as it has everyone who has ever lived under it's thumb.

  • That's the truth. Worse yet, it trains the population to sit back and wait for help from the government. They are not alone there, as you can see from many of the comment herein. If the people had access to small loans, and a bit of guidance in starting small businesses, of any kind, most of this poverty would vanish. Here's hoping.

  • I feel sorry for the bambo hut. What did it ever do to deserve such losers?

  • How can they survive like that? Why are they still alive, if this is true?

  • Hey, I am the world Vision Youth Ambassador for Victoria in Australia. That video was made on my trip to Laos, the person narrating is another Y.A. from Queensland. I assure that Kaisong lives exactly how the video shows. Without World Vision setting up projects in her community, she may die very soon. But World Vision Australia does a 40 hour famine that is going to her district in Khammouan in Laos So that is very Exciting!

  • How did Kaisong live as long as she did? I'm just trying to understand this. Thank you

  • I believe that allowing a one-time donation is easier to rally support and donations. Not everyone can afford to donate monthly. Moreover, it is usually the people who experience suffering themselves that will have sympathy to share and give. This is just my opinion anyway.

  • I believe most people are ok to part with small contribution even if they have any doubts, so it will make it easier for most people to do our part. My idea is that every small amount will add up to help these people and children, so please consider allowing online one-time donation of any amount in your website.

  • Moreover, it is likely that people who make a one-time donation may re-visit the website later on to make another donation when they feel they could afford it again. I always do that.

  • Hi, I notice that World Vision 40 hour famine only allows monthly donations. Is there any way to make a one-time donation?

  • Don't mix up poverty with misery! I have lived in Laos for 4 years, and there is much poverty, but less misery then in our countries.

  • so sad.I wish i could help

  • you can, check out 40hourfamine. com to get all the information about how you can help kaisong!

  • hey jackahoe1 stfu plz.

  • those people filming...they better have done something for that family

  • they are, they both work for world vision Australia who are supporting Kaisong and other families in her village with the 40 hour famine money. When I was there visiting her, I gave her some books and pencils to go to school with. It is something that she had never had!

  • that's just so amazing..i am so touched =*(

  • I teared up watching these videos

  • fuck these kids im RICH BITCH!!!!

  • Yes you are, You make up one of the top 2% of people in this world just by owning a computer. But just because you were born where you are by chance. don't abuse it. Put yourself in Kaisong's shoes and think about how you would feel if someone said that to you. Just $5 would feed Kaisong for a month. You have the power to change her world.

  • Dude im the baby at :41!! Omg I can't believe they found this video!!

  • they should just eat there children like the rest of us normal people

  • mmm makes me hungrey. i think ill enjoy a pot pie.

  • I am glad to see american people so sensitive at the matter of poverty...Ok then why don't you do something to stop this goverment of yours that spreads misery to so many people?em what about stop voting them?just an idea..

  • dude bush tripled health aid to africa

  • Bush has also destroyed various countries in which will these countries will take years to build back up. Bush had also spent billions and billions of dollars on wars when he could of spent it saving these dying people.

  • Don't get too carried away. There was crushing poverty long before the chimp took office and it will exist after he leaves.

  • good point CuCu

  • rock star mentailtiy. Frankly money cant solve everything. You actually have to work to accomplish anyhting

    1. billions and billions cant save alot of people

    2. We dont have enough ppl to send for that you need ppl to volunteer

  • OK!But what about all that pain he causes due to economical benefit "dude"??

  • dont patronize me it makes it seem like your pmsing

so lets assume we all know bush is mentally retarded no more argument. can you clarify? economic sanctions? or?

  • 3. you cant fund governments because theyre corrupt 2 of them think they can solve aids with pesticide and holy magic. 1 thinks hes the 13th apostle

    4. your trivializing tripling the aid to justify your self thats disgusting

    5. DO something yourself the only way you can demand the government to do more is if we have a 50% income tax

  • Look I had no intension to argue about Bush..I am just very dissapointed by this governments politics and amazed that he keeps gaining votes despite all those crimes against humanity, he has commited. And to put an end on this I want to say to you that US has the power to makes things right but for some reason makes it all wrong. And to answer your question:take a clear look at the situation at the Middle East..

  • Granted. But im curious by what you meant by "economic benefit"

  • oil

  • Sadly, the middle east is an example of how little power the US actually has. You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink. People must "want" to change, adopt different ways, and have opportunity from those around them to do so. Sadly, the biggest problem people face is usually a class system and natural bigotry within their own societies. England suffers the same limits on its peoples energy.

  • ok.Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe US should leave those people alone and stop making a mess out of everything????They are not god..so that they decide and destroy whole regions! It's not their case.

  • Well of course it has! Who wants to spend money stomping our men around in foreign lands, hurting people and getting our people hurt!? Americans are just as nice a people as anyone else. Has it ever crossed your mind that sometimes nations are 'forced" to send their boys into harms way, and when they do that, innocent people are hurt too? The world is not simple-sadly, it is the way it is. Hitler is easy. A Cold War is harder to see (you don't). You and I arguing. Basis of war.

  • You and I arguing is not the basis of war. Believing that violence is an acceptable way of achieving political ends is the basis of war. "Our boys" is a term used by the violent to convince the rest of their country folk that they are all on the same side. And the notion that the loss of innocent lives is unavoidable is a platitude mouthed by those who will never have to pay that price themselves.

  • History shows the US government does interfere violently in the affairs of other nations, more so than any other nation. You don't have to defend that just because they are american.

  • History shows we were at war with the Russians, who were eager to topple or destroy us--to spread Communism by war, murder, coercion, and any other means available. Your "history shows" judgement comes from this. Witness the recent murder of the exKGB agent in Britain. You prefer to accuse and sit smug in your moral superiority. We were raised under threat of a rain of nukes, you were an observer. Platitudes come in many forms, do they not.

  • My, what amazing wisdom. How about sticking to the high school philosophy classes. Good luck to you.

  • Forced by who?Who has the power to force the american nation?
