  • One of the best pencillers of all time. He is my favorite artist, next to Stephen Platt of course

  • this gets 30k and a mediocre drawing instruction video gets 900k views? are you kidding me?

  • @neonaction best comment on youtube.

  • cool

  • HE'S REALLY GOOD.

  • What kind of pencil is that?

  • @DH1986 I'd like to know too. And what pencil is best for the basic layout/gesture of the drawing vs the details?

  • @DH1986 a staedtler .2mm leadholder

  • @TheNeggor I'm very fond of the Steadler 2mm lead holder I may add, It's durable, feels awesome, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I only wish Steadler would sell a full range of leads for it, I can only find 4b-4h in my city, which forces me to complement with, yikes, Prismacolor leads!

  • damn hes nasty i have never heard of him but i want more good damn thats nice

  • wow amazing detail

  • This DVD is absolutely killer. David comes across as a very modest, self-critical and honest artist . I adored every minute of his tutorial series (both this and Dynamic Figure Drawing).

  • I could swear that there's a largely disproportionate number of left-handed artists on youtube. One of my all-time favorites is the iconic R Crumb.

  • whatever country has better artists than the other, finding the right quality of work that inspires one or many really matters. the attention to details, the inuvative styles and the craft that an artist has to show for is the signature that im glad to have seen in action when david finch kindly drew me his rendition of my choice. Supporting his work is just the least that i can do to appreciate his work and will continue to look forward for more to come.

  • WOW! i came upon this after looking at Jim Lee's stuff. This guy is amazing!

  • Finch is awesome. and an inkers nightmare.

  • @TEHSWOLEONE On the contrary. A good inker who is an artist loves inking pieces like David's. If someone who inks, sees a piece like David's as a nightmare, then they lack integrity, and artistic maturity.

  • @orgorg7 Fuck off old man. You're looking too far into the comment. I was joking around because he puts so much detail into his work, it would take forever to ink. Consume a penis.

  • @TEHSWOLEONE It never fails to amaze me, the sub-level of immaturity that finds itself on the internet. Bravo Sir. Bravo.

  • @orgorg7 You replied to my comment. You're the one who thought it was a good idea to force your opinion on what a "Good Inker" is. Didn't you? Next time think before you spew your horse shit onto someone elses comments. Lets see what the people think? Oh look, my comment has 10 thumbs up in approval. Because some people know how not to take shit seriously on the fucking internet. Don't misinterpret my maturity level for my inability to deal with fucking assholes on the internet.

  • it's a shame avlot of the beautiful subtlety of finch's line work is lost after the inking and coloring...

  • i got tha digital download today it rocked so hard \m/

  • wow shes beautiful!

  • look up frazetta

  • wut r u talkn about? all his influences were of comic artists like hal foster and al capp, his styles is compared to renaissance european artists but those guys above were his influences, frazetta's art displays true American grit, rawness, and power that is sorely lacking in other fantasy artists

  • wtf r u sayn ur just jealous cuz frazetta even remarked in his books that his style is based on american influences, he started his famous paintings in the late 50's and 60's ur french comic came out 1974 dumass, just like syd mead, the 9 old men at disney , glen keane, feng zhu, carlos huante all these artists are american, john singer sargent was an amzing frickn painter, and craig mullens too, look all their styles up its fukn incredible, how is it european style?, u have no logic, and

  • @kurd26 i agree americans r shit. im american, but sorry its true. there are exceptions of couse but in general its an accurate statement. the japanese are better too. all americans care about is rendering shit and noodling which is lame. also they have zero original ideas. overall the american industry is pathetic.

  • american artists and european artist are both good and the reason why is because anyone who wants to succeed in this industry has to be extremely driven it has to be a calling. Play national politics with something you actually know something about

  • @beniceokay its not political. the japanese make the americans and europeans both look like total amateurs, but at least europeans have alot of cool ideas. the american industry is totally fucking retarded. to succeed in american comics you have to be mentally impaired ocd freak who spends all day rendering because that is what the american fans want, the few of them who are left. the only american book i like right now is the marquis.

  • @mittROMNEY666 dude your just saying that coz you cant draw period

  • david finch is awesome-MORE PLZ!!!

  • david finch is one of the BEST comicbook artists ever! my favourite comics of him are ultimate xmen, moonknight and the first episodes of the new avengers-that was awesome work!

  • WOOOOOOOOOW, LOVE it.

  • Pretty cool. Thanks for the sample art.

  • I like the details of your drawings
