This DVD is absolutely killer. David comes across as a very modest, self-critical and honest artist . I adored every minute of his tutorial series (both this and Dynamic Figure Drawing).
whatever country has better artists than the other, finding the right quality of work that inspires one or many really matters. the attention to details, the inuvative styles and the craft that an artist has to show for is the signature that im glad to have seen in action when david finch kindly drew me his rendition of my choice. Supporting his work is just the least that i can do to appreciate his work and will continue to look forward for more to come.

yes, frazetta is one of the best of all, like john bolton and others, but in despite of being from usa, his style is european, academyc, not "american"...;)
wut r u talkn about? all his influences were of comic artists like hal foster and al capp, his styles is compared to renaissance european artists but those guys above were his influences, frazetta's art displays true American grit,rawness,and power that is sorely lacking in other fantasy artists

frazetta to me look a LOT more the heavy metal-- Métal Hurlant EUROPEAN style- than anything else... everybody knows that the "american style" is not genuine, because it is very rough andtoo much stylized... jim lee started to draw and everyone before him copyed him... the same thing with frank miller... after him, guys like john romero and many others copyed his style... i particularly hate super heroes comics, so , to me, the "american style " sucks a lot...

david finch is one of the BEST comicbook artists ever! my favourite comics of him are ultimate xmen,moonknight and the first episodes of the new avengers-that was awesome work!
One of the best pencillers of all time. He is my favorite artist, next to Stephen Platt of course
