Maria was quietly looking directly at Weiner as he said, "... 40% of all tax dollars go to a public plan. Ask your parent or grandparent, ask your neighbor whether they're satisfied with Medicare. Now, there's a funding problem, but the quality of care is terrific--you get complete choice, you can go anywhere you want ... " Then, as he tries to continue, Maria cuts him off and says "Well, how come YOU don't use it? You don't have it. How come YOU don't have it?!" She's a bimbo and a liar.

bartiromo was not touting government benefits, she was dogging them. but to be fair, she was talking about one thing (a $36,000 cancer drug treatment, the english plan and of course lying about european countries denying care) while weiner (who said let's talk about american health care) started talking about medicare. she wasn't keeping up, and didn't make the distinction even after weiner told her he was talking about medicare.

See video at v=TvmHfPWsREc and start at 6:57 there...weiner was clearly talking about medicare, and she clearly asked why wasn't weiner on it if it was so good. but besides that, weiner (or anyone else on a current plan) would NOT be able to transition to the public option for a 5 yr grace period under HR3200. she clearly is clueless to some of the facts in this debate, so why does msnbc and cnbc continue to push her to the forefront?? ridiculous.

andante24: If we go along with your argument (and I don't doubt it's possible), she's still either incompetent on health insurance, or was not paying attention during the debate. Incompetent because as Weiner said in the clip, those 65+ already have a public option - called MEDICARE (and btw, at least 150 congressmen are already on medicare, a govt option). Or she was not paying attention, because Weiner specifically mentioned Medicare, not what's going on in Europe (like she was trying to say)
