I'm sorry but I don't agree. Two friends of mine work in the fashion industry and they aren't full of themselves at all. Quite the contrary, I find them very kind-hearted and easy to get along with.
@intternett you are correct my friend, take it from someone spending a LOT (too much) time in LA, fashion and film industries are as impure and superficial as you will ever find, and its because of the people
on their quest to find beauty in something that society has refused, did they hire any of these beaten down and disenfranchised girls to model their clothes on the runway. are they making an affordable version of the collection for these girls to wear so that the girls can partake in the all this beauty? there's a fine line between art and exploitation. i think they might have crossed the line.
@k0k0jamb0 I couldn't have said it better myself. That "short film" was complete rubbish using black girls as nothing more than a tool to sell their clothing to wealthy consumers who will never relate to the life that those "disenfranchised girls" live.
Once again, black women are shown singing the same note of despair and misery, never as they really are....all for the sake of making a sale.
i kinda like it. it's off-beat and the imagery isnt realistic, but the ideas and feelings are. many young black girls would be offended by this video, many would actually like it, and many would unhappily acknowledge the ideas/feelings as real (i'm black, and KIDS is one of my fav films.)
your movie has no form of uplifting spirit in it,looks very staged as well..also, drinking 40's and wig shops.REALLY? I will never shop your brand if this is your version of "ART"..there are so many other directions this film could of went, you took the easy way out. Go back to the drawing board, and don't alienate and offend your customers in the name of your so called "ART."
i thought it was lovely. the girls shine thru what i think was an intentional stereotype stage, but they're too pretty on the inside it shows, they act like kids, talk about starssssssssssssssssssss, and fuck everyone else- so when it ended it was sad and sweet and uplifting and sad.
@vain319 What don't you find inspiring about retaining a sense of hope and persevering in an unforgiving world? And obviously it looks staged, do you not realize that one of the aspects of the video was to show off a product? You seem uneducated.

The fashion world is full of superficial, vacuous, self-centred, immature, pretentious, materialistic and snobbish people.

@intternett And many of them are addicted to drugs, promiscuous, dissolute, envious, extremely competitive...

Loved the video! So great to hear the way artists think.
Just to let the idiots on here commenting know Proenza Schouler has done and affordable line with Target, that was more accessible to young girls.

I'd much rather hear Harmony talk about the film than these two....

it is a fictitious setting, it is not real. whether or not you take it seriously is up to you.
