Looks great. I'm shooting a feature film with the Canon 7D in summer 2010 and I'm excited about the possibilities the wide aperture presents. I've got a 28mm prime lens f1.8 and we can shoot indoors with available light most of the time with no supplement. It's amazing.
Excellent footage. Wonder if it could be better using the 5DMkII with an EF 70-200 IS USM f2.8 lens instead of a 85mm f1.2 lens. For night shots, f1.2 is better, but 85mm is mostly for portraits. Anyway, thanks for sharing...don't know how many times I have taken Star ferries in my childhood ... in the place where I was born...
That is hard to say. I own the mark II and think it's simply amazing! Mark I also an amazing lens! Mark II is a bit faster with the autofocus. If I'm correct , both have manual focus by wire which means the camera must be turned on to focus.
If you can get a Mark I for a nice price instead of the Mark II, I'd say go for it :-) !
f1.2 will be ALOT better then f2.8, i dont think the camera will cope with f2.8 in HD@24fps unless it turns the ISo down, but they u get lots of noice
Excellent work! Really shows off the EOS 5D mark II capabilities to great advantage. Well chosen subject matter, very nicely produced. I cannot wait to experiment with my newly acquired EOS 5D mark II . The well constructed shoot was so detailed, it made me feel as if I was walking around Hong Kong. Thanks. :)))
they have prejudices towards anyone who isn't caucasian . They will just pretend otherwise or try to brainwash you into thinking that you are the problem.
Actually, you're right, I just looked at your profile and you're not American, which actually worsens it, but also makes more sense.
Many of you happen to heavily racist against Asians, so no wonder you' say something like you did. As much as it makes you cringe, they're the pros of the technological world, not the Americans, so boo hoo. Columbophilia is a tacky sickness, rid yourself of it.
Yeah I think people have to be aware this isn't the results of normal domestic usage! There's a few thousand pounds worth of lenses in use here. It's not the difference of 'Oh i should of spent a few hundred pounds more'.
no if you are a film student get a video camera dont the sensor on the 5dmk2 can not record longer then 20mins or so cause it over heats. plus your a film student not a photography student its a no brainer.... if you want a dslr get one on the side
Canon doesn't do in-body Image Stabilisation, but rather use the built-in IS in their lens. The slightly shaky shots you have seen in this video were taken with a Canon 85mm f1.2 L lens, which does not come with built-in IS. Lens with IS work great with the 5D MK II.
@Sprengstoff Hi there, I bought a habbycam shoulder brace for my canon 5d mark II and it has worked out wonderfully. Adorama has them on sale on occasion on there website.
Although it would not have the capability to shoot that continuously. It would have to be at 12min increments at a time since the censor would overheat
That was a great video of the Canon EOS 5 D Mark II. I guess it was on done Hong Kong. Good night filming of the city, it really show how wonderful of the night life.
I love Hong Kong!

Many white Aussies have prejudice towards people of Asian descent, so it's no wonder you're going to continue spewing your bigoted assertions.

Are you that dense that you have blame them for our people's lack of creativity?
Technologically, the Asians do not rip off from us, but us from them.
Nationalism is repugnant, get over yourself.

ok thx for your reply, have you done any testing with IS lenses? Would be really interesting to see if the lens movement will show up in the video.
