  • what is this background song? ... its pretty loopy but its pretty nice

  • @Profetic It's one of the tracks from Apple's iLife, that also comes with iMovie.

  • HONG KONG! this video makes HONG KONG looks so much more beautiful than it is... well it's beautiful, but pollution and dirty.

  • the garageband loops are KILLING me

  • honglüdeng lol

  • wow look at the QUALITY!!!

  • nice vid!!! i like music in this video...yea 5D great camera

  • Looks great. I'm shooting a feature film with the Canon 7D in summer 2010 and I'm excited about the possibilities the wide aperture presents. I've got a 28mm prime lens f1.8 and we can shoot indoors with available light most of the time with no supplement. It's amazing.

  • what is the background music?

  • awesome!! would love to visit HK

  • Nice vídeo!

  • hong kong is amazing :)

  • very nice video, if you were wondering, this is hong kong btw =]

  • I would love one of these cameras. So real you could almost walk into the images

  • wonderful video, this camera seems to be perfect. just a question: which is the city filmed?

  • Hong Kong

  • can any1 please tell me where and when and for what each lens were used?

  • Excellent footage. Wonder if it could be better using the 5DMkII with an EF 70-200 IS USM f2.8 lens instead of a 85mm f1.2 lens. For night shots, f1.2 is better, but 85mm is mostly for portraits. Anyway, thanks for sharing...don't know how many times I have taken Star ferries in my childhood ... in the place where I was born...

  • 85L is simply amazing! Would take that lens over the 70-200L any day! Both wonderful lenses though.

  • There are two models of 85L f1.2 --- the old one and the new one with mark II. Which one is better?

  • That is hard to say. I own the mark II and think it's simply amazing! Mark I also an amazing lens! Mark II is a bit faster with the autofocus. If I'm correct , both have manual focus by wire which means the camera must be turned on to focus.

If you can get a Mark I for a nice price instead of the Mark II, I'd say go for it :-) !

  • f1.2 will be ALOT better then f2.8, i dont think the camera will cope with f2.8 in HD@24fps unless it turns the ISo down, but they u get lots of noice

  • This is amazing footage!

  • what were the lenses used??

  • Excellent work! Really shows off the EOS 5D mark II capabilities to great advantage. Well chosen subject matter, very nicely produced. I cannot wait to experiment with my newly acquired EOS 5D mark II . The well constructed shoot was so detailed, it made me feel as if I was walking around Hong Kong. Thanks. :)))

  • Question? Can you zoom in and out while recording video?

  • yip :)

  • hong kong is such a photogenic city

  • Great video. i am getting my 5d mark 2 soon ,

love doing night still shots ,but soon trying night videos ,

    thanks for sharing .

  • Nice Vid!

I Get my MKII next week! :-)

  • Nice movie..... hahah.. Lol... i hear garageband's loops

    :D

  • is that hong kong?

  • yes

  • Why do I not earn more money?

  • Now I will have to go buy one of those cameras.

  • Amazing! Love your footage. : ) Thanks for sharing this video.

  • nice

  • cool

  • impressive!

  • Dam video compression....this would have looked way better...

  • click on hd!

  • Many white Aussies have prejudice towards people of Asian descent, so it's no wonder you're going to continue spewing your bigoted assertions.

  • they have prejudices towards anyone who isn't caucasian . They will just pretend otherwise or try to brainwash you into thinking that you are the problem.

  • Actually, you're right, I just looked at your profile and you're not American, which actually worsens it, but also makes more sense.

Many of you happen to heavily racist against Asians, so no wonder you' say something like you did. As much as it makes you cringe, they're the pros of the technological world, not the Americans, so boo hoo. Columbophilia is a tacky sickness, rid yourself of it.

  • Are you that dense that you have blame them for our people's lack of creativity?

Technologically, the Asians do not rip off from us, but us from them.

Nationalism is repugnant, get over yourself.

  • DSLRs may be the future of film-making

  • just a couple a days...

    can´t wait!!! :-)

  • u getting this camera?

  • jep I got it :-)

  • :l it cost too much lol

  • :[

    This just makes me depressed.

    That camera is beautiful.

  • lovely

  • Yeah I think people have to be aware this isn't the results of normal domestic usage! There's a few thousand pounds worth of lenses in use here. It's not the difference of 'Oh i should of spent a few hundred pounds more'.

  • Jesus! The quality of the video makes me feel as if I am in Hong Kong. Wow!!! Great direction! I'm looking forward to getting mine!!

  • I can't look at this. It makes me upset ... Too pricey.

    :(

  • i just bought Sony DSLR -_-;; and im watching this...

  • It's pricey if all you use it for is playing around with!

  • Who said I would be playing around with it ?

  • It was a figure of speech - Buying a camera like this pays for it's self.

  • That it very true. But not only a camera pays for it's self but how a person behind the camera will make a use out of it ;]

  • OMG! so beautiful!! is that Hong Kong or tokyo?

anywayz, great video~ mark II not cheap~

  • Hong Kong :)

  • no if you are a film student get a video camera dont the sensor on the 5dmk2 can not record longer then 20mins or so cause it over heats. plus your a film student not a photography student its a no brainer.... if you want a dslr get one on the side

  • would you recommend this camera to a film student who wants to use it to make films but as wel wants an slr camera?

  • Very Nice. Was waiting for RED Scarlet, might get this to play with in meantime . .

  • ok thx for your reply, have you done any testing with IS lenses? Would be really interesting to see if the lens movement will show up in the video.

  • Nice one, looks great. But it seems like the handheld shoots are a bit shaky, is there any image stabilisation in the MKII?

  • Canon doesn't do in-body Image Stabilisation, but rather use the built-in IS in their lens. The slightly shaky shots you have seen in this video were taken with a Canon 85mm f1.2 L lens, which does not come with built-in IS. Lens with IS work great with the 5D MK II.

  • @Sprengstoff Hi there, I bought a habbycam shoulder brace for my canon 5d mark II and it has worked out wonderfully. Adorama has them on sale on occasion on there website.

  • Nice Video!

    Nice composition!

How much minutes can you hold on at 16gig card?

  • 40 mins on full qual

  • Although it would not have the capability to shoot that continuously. It would have to be at 12min increments at a time since the censor would overheat

  • the limit is really due to overheating?

  • like in the movies :O

  • Are there any day videos, I am falling in love with this camera. I currently have a Canon 40D and its my baby.

  • BTW - love what this camera can do at night - really amazing!

  • You are in Hongkong! Thats where you get all those hot Chinese models! LOL!

  • nice, any high quality available somewhere?

  • Hi, checkout the links at the top-right hand corner, just underneath the 'Subscribe/Unsubscribe' button.

  • Amazing quality - phenomenal video. :-)

    ....Yeah....

  • Hi

That was a great video of the Canon EOS 5 D Mark II. I guess it was on done Hong Kong. Good night filming of the city, it really show how wonderful of the night life.
