At 2:15. "You're watching The Weather Channel. The cable television network for America's lifestyle." And now, some softcore porn to help you enjoy that swingin' lifestyle. (Check out that background music!!!) LMAO.
I went to my grandfolks house that xmas when i was 15 in the ATL. It was sooo cold. All I had on was a long sleeve shirt, a sweater and my new black Members Only jacket.Wish id had thermal underwear.
I remember watching TWC first in a hotel room at the beach when I was a kid. The logo had a song "We're weather-proofing America, we're The Weather Channel!".
1983 was a very cold and dry winter for Southern California. Not one to remember for rain lovers. Only good storms where in December the rest of the seasons sucked bad.
was there any hotties back then.I didnt get into it til 1993 I been recording it ever sense few mins of every host I got some of the best of the 90`s Julie,Jodie.early Sharon.
I'm guessing you weren't very old (or not yet alive) in 1983.. The weather channel was so much better in those days when info was "off the cuff," computers were new and "crude," (The Apple IIe was the height of technology for $3000), and we marveled at seeing tv "via satellite" coming from thousands of miles away.... live on cable. By the way, "Will Annen" disappeared from twc during this decade... (let go for "prettier" people) after 20years..
....are these guys closeted? I look forward to "eating pie" with you????? I know it's the 80s and it's corny but come on! I'm sure people had more to talk about than raisin pie....I wonder if these guys are still alive...
It was a different era. They probably didn't have the graphics they do now and couldn't put actual temperatures on. Computers now can process almost every type of weather data that there is and put it in graphical form.
Actually, the US's average temperature in 2007 is the lowest its been since 1983 (remember how cold it was from February through May?), so there's more to it than that. It has already snowed in west and central Texas and northwest Mexico this fall, and its only late November.
Thanks for posting this vintage clip.

Apparently the spelling of the word "wintery" changed between 1983 and now. Nowadays on TWC, they spell it "wintry" - as in "wintry mix"

The Weather Channel: May 2, 1982 - present
The Weather Channel's PRIME: May 2,1982 - August 15, 2005
metsfreak4life 2 years ago
@metsfreak4life i say TWC's prime was 1982-1995, and 1999-2005. :)
whattheheck1000 1 year ago
@whattheheck1000 So you think TWC also sucked from 1995-1999, but then it was good again for 6 years :)
epzik8 1 year ago
@epzik8 didn't suck, but i like 1982-1995 and 1999-2005 better. Personally, the BEST time for TWC was 1988-1995 and 2002-2003.

What happened to Will Annen? Did he retire? Him and Bill Keneely were my favorites. I know Keneely is the only original there.

Yeah. Men were allowed to act like men, not like emasculated eunuchs like the wimps on TWC today.

That ID at the end is the earliest i've seen on YT. Back then, it was most likely cutting edge graphics.
