1st- dogs' hearing is usually better than ours, plus he was lying directly on the floor, where he could feel things really well. i don't know if the actual shaking had already begun before the dog ran, but you can see for yourself plenty of movement already :18 seconds in...

watch the filing cabinet along the left side. you won't see much shaking, but it was enough that the file draw was sliding open ON ITS OWN as of :18 secs.

If you pay attention at the camera moments before the shaking, you can see a little movement, its' because of that the man stared running up the same time the big shock was striking. The earthquake was already striking. I don't think the dog sensed it, it just felt it, like us.

Regardless, animals do sense things sooner than we do, if they are awake I guess. Looked like a dangerous scenario w/no cover for protection.

Ok everyone. The reason dogs and other animals can "sense" earthquakes is because they can hear low frequency sound waves that humans can't. Low frequency waves are produced before an earthquakes hits. Plain and simple.
