  • This brings back a few memories of the 1970s - indeed I believe it was shown even into the 80s from time to time though rarely.

  • The cyclists and setting are Brit, the singers are some sorry species of American which has since, hopefully, gone extinct. Confusing discordance. Some of these geeky spoke-folk may be better off NOT getting themselves seen. ...Or heard. But 21st Century cyclists, DO wear light reflecting rags and LED rear blinkers and bright white front lights as sundown approaches.... The life your lights save may be your own.

  • It's os weird I just heard I've Got My Mind Set On You by George Harrison and I suddenly thought of this advert I reember both the song and the advert from my 80's childhood and I used to think it was the same song lol. Even though there completely different but strangely similar...or not check it out!

  • The guy (or chap as the case may be) Tweed Riding at 27, 35, 50 and 55 was at least 30 years ahead of the times. Shades of H.G. Wells!

  • Shot in Britain - check out the red telephone booths.

  • I took a brush to my bike and my dad told me off...ah the good old days :)

  • awesome

  • I can't believe that I remember all the words!

  • my favourite line is 'use some tape, if you like'.

  • @effigymotion Haha like they're giving you permission lol.

  • Wonderfully catchy. Shame they forgot to invent the cycle helmet first.

  • Loved this one! Always used to sing it....so catchy :P

  • That's it, I'm selling my Specialized and getting a Raleigh Chopper!

  • fab advert, I remember dressing my bike up

  • God tis brought back memories! Had totally forgotten about it but when it started I knew all the words! LOL! Can't believe we were encouraging kids to take a paint brush to their brand new Raleigh Grifter or chopper bikes! Ha Ha!

  • the motherfucker has a tin foil jacket!

  • It's brilliantly jaunty, this one, isn't it? Although does the lad at the beginning have an entire jacket made of foil?

  • I use marine reflective tape (SOLAS) on my backpack and bike. As well as a flashing tail light and LED headlight.

Back in the 70-80's we never had energy efficient LED lights, the old incandescent headlights used to eat batteries like crazy. We also had the generator lights that used friction from your front wheel to get power. They sure slowed you down though.

  • Shame the little nog can't be made white. Legend has it that he was responsible for the hooter sound at the end. The horrible looking thing then went on to deal drugs successfully for the remainder of the 1980's.

  • @slaughterhouseblues1 Shame you're not 6 feet under. Although looking at the activity on your channel maybe you are?

  • love it. still remember all the words!

  • Get yourself seen, but don't wear anything on your head.

    ;-)

    How times have changed....

  • @clubsport911 Get yourself seen and wear a helmet wouldn't have the same ring about it.

  • they need to re run this on tv now! the man in the white gloves is very strange?

  • ,,,, that was really amazing

  • They used to still show this when I was a kid (in the 80s)

  • no way...even remember the words to this..never thought id see it again...cheers

  • OMG I haven't seen this advert in years.

They were the good days, How I miss them.
