When you first start a match, you will see a lot of people draw squares around their workers over and over... IT really does help with saturation numbers. If you shift_click, or double click, you might get workers that are off building or en route, so drawing squares around your mineral line is really the best way to see how many you have on minerals.

He's using the old keyboard because they are thick and can endure when pros have to start button smash the keys. In addition, newer gaming keyboards are very slim and sensitive while older ones have those thicks keys which requires a harder "press". Pros just like playing on these types of keys and I guess BoxeR is just used to that keyboard. And the keys he took out are the Window Start keys. To prevent accidental "Alt-tabbing".

The reason they use old keyboards is that the internals of the old keyboards withstand much better damage than newer boards. Those IBM ones for example can kill a person! :D

this is starcraft, an rts. They do so many excess button movements in the early game to warm themseves up for the late game when they controll upwards of 100 units/groups + manage their production

Not everything he did was necessary. Especially at the beginning. You can do a ton of the stuff he did with MUCH less key strokes. The repetitive nature of it is to cut down on time, though. If you screw up the timing you lose precious seconds, but if you hit the keyboard constantly, it does what you tell it to do at the soonest possible time.

The reason he does unnecessary moves at the start is to keep his apm constant. If you don't do that at the start it effects your apm average and varience. He probably puts his replays through one of the replay analysers that give those kinds of details.

a microsoft trekker basic, probably cause this is from 2003, so he's still utilizing his ballmouse. There have been newer videos on YouTube of his where he is using a Logitech Mx300.
