Gorgeous... someone who gets lost in the music and sings straight from his heart. It doesn't matter that the rest of the music has "overtaken his voice," that's what happens a lot in live performances. You can still hear every note of his soul. It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

He can sing up to a point but by 4:30 the music has completely overtaken his voice and he really seems limited. If he could sustain one note with the power that, say, the backup singers are using, it would make a big difference. As it is, it suffers from Joe Cocker's "mumble and scat your way through the climax." A shame, because he's very strong throughout the quiet parts, where he has a lot of presence and grace. He should stick to that. Everyone else has to do the work for him otherwise.

@johnsomnia I disagree. I Love Cocker's 'mumble-scat' and think Antony does a fine job of switching to that as he brings the song to a close. Sustaining one long note as you suggest would change the mood of the song for the worse, in my opinion, turning it into some dreadful Las Vegas dinner act.

This is the best rendering of this song ever. Everything comes together amazingly well. The musical arrangement is sublime, the sax, the acoustic guitar, the backing vocals, Antony's voice with pure emotion. It's interesting to see how this song evolves and grows to an majestic ending with Antony sort of "howling".

He is really into the song and the backing vocals along with the musical arrangement complements really well this rendering. It could not have been better.
