Ghanians don't understand the power of that international all seeing eye. If a person sends over 1000 dollars to another country. from U.S and many other countries. the government keeps record of it. ghanians must uuderstand the technogy that has been put in place to watch international business. study the recourse of you order. first research the company. Then use a reliable money connection. And know where to go to protect your purchase. ghana is afraid to move. but get the knowledge how to
China regulated their manufacturers. Theft was not tolerated. many ghanians feel like if they make shoes. they should be able to take boxes of them and make a side business off of the manufacturers property. this is the repretation that no one talks about. Ghanians must be made to see the big picture. They must understand the power of big integrity, big business. they must learn to think of future not just the now. this is why many companies leave.they need honest workers.or they make no profit.
ghanians must get the trust of nations. nations that want to manufacture goods in ghana. Many companies are saying that the reason why they will not manufacture in ghana is because of the lever of theft. there are no regulations put in place to protect the property of manufacturers. The ghanian government has not created regulations for such. its needed. many jobs can be created and ghanians can do their own manufacturing. many think if they make something they have the right to take it home
Its globalization now.Ghana has no choice. However. Ghanians must use technology of communication to struction economic support in ghana. everything can be gotten. Its at your fingertips. But ghanians won't understand that all is visible. You are no longer trading apples for oranges. business systems are already in place. Ghana has to learn to use them. why take 2 or 3 months to buy a car when they can order one and get it in 2 weeks. all eyes are on money transfers. Its safe. they see all.
The IMF and the World Bank ARE THIEVES, I have a friend who has an admirable charity that was given money by a european country, who used the world bank. THEY HAVE YET TO GIVE THE MONEY THEY PROMISED. They have had my friend send every request until her face turned blue and the charity suffered for it. THEY ARE DEVILS pretending to help and then DON'T GIVE THE HELP. They made her go through HOOPS and give every type of proof. She is helping and they are lying, trying not to pay. SCUM WB,SCUM
This looks more like the new Ghana. Please tell the media to stop emphasizing only the negatives. We have a great deal to celelbrate in Ghana and Africa, generally. Thanks, World Bank for something more impressive than ERP
man fuck the world bank, they're the same global bankers who have been raping africa for the last 500 years or so, trust me, if you guys are doing well, it's in spite of the world bank, not because of it.
i am ghana and i must say what happened is in the past. we can not be sure that we will run into a poll if always focused on whats behind us. ghana will flourish once again if we work hard enough. so no worries okay?^-^
I dont think that will bandwidth will stop BPO for some processes which dont require a constatnt network uplink. When I first started my Indian BPO operation, we had only dial up connections. This didnt stop us, and with the low cost of labor, we were able to compete until broadband arrive in 99' to the town we were operating from.
Go Ghana, Go Africa! We are all supporting you at Urban Technology Ventures!!!
Popular media needs to stop perpetuating stereotypes about Africa, and follow the World Bank model. Promoting Africa as a continent of plague and underachievement will only cultivate low expectations, internationally, and prevent the continent from succeeding economically.
There is obviously a lot of potential, there -- Still, I can't believe how much they pay for bandwidth, and rent. With those prices they may as well move their operation to the United States... Something needs to be done.
What is a BPO?

@bluecafe22 How is moving their money to the US going to help their economy, home, neighborhood, or race. It's best they do this for Ghana.

Correction: Some things need to stop/get out of the way!
(lets lend our ears to non WB advice to start with)
Of course the prices are high. weren't we all forced to borrow money against 30+% interest for decades?!!!
