This was the reason I bought a PS1. Actually it was one part of one level that made me get the PS1, and I didn't even know what the game was called. I just knew I loved the idea of that jumping part where you jump down the San Francisco streets. That seemed so much fun to me, the whole freedom of it. I got Toca, Toca 2, V Rally, and then finally discovered Test Drive 4 and the level I'd been looking for.

i remember racing 2 player split screen... this pitbull will beat the jag xjj220 everytime even with the pitbull topping out at 170mph and xjj220 does like 210 mph... going off my childhood memory from 10;... correction 13 years ago

SAUSAGE was a cheat code to unlock the bonus cars. VROOOOM Gave you unlimited nitrous. Damn, it's been like 10 years and i still remember that lol. I liked the white Viper even though it was too fast to control.

couple things i didnt get about the pitbull special in test drive 4, It had a 183 ci engine (obviously tuned) and made 800 hp, it has the fastest acceleration of any car in-game (0-60 in 1.5 seconds) but has the lowest top speed of any drivable vehicle in-game.

I remember that the Jaguar XJ220 was extremely hard to beat in this race because it had such a high top speed it would just leave everyone in the dust in the beginning. Sometimes he is not in the race tho.

this car was an amazing car! i always got it with the cheat XD (i think it was either mthree or rone) and i liked racing this car. but my favs were the ones with the blowers, lol. the hill jumps i had skipped one once with a TVR speed 12, and skipped 2 with a cop car ( i dunno how they happened, but they just did lol)

To Daisjun - Thats why it was good! It wasnt some free-bee. Plus I still can beat any level with multiple regular (non cheat) cars. The '69 corvette ruled.

Am I the only one who thinks this game is insanely cruel? I remember that you had to run an absolute perfect race if you ever wanted a chance of winning. One crash and bam, you're done. Even in this video you can see that you have absolutely no way of avoiding cars crossing the road on the jumps ,the controls were really skittish. The only other way you could win (as in this vid) was by using a cheat car. I hate when a racer interprets simulation as REALLY FUCKING HARD TO CONTROL CARS.
