  • Are bonito fish big?

  • not a spanish mackeral spanish mackeral are atlantic fish that was a paific mack

  • "AWSOME" When I was 12 to 15 years old ( I am 47 now ) I fished King Harbor back then every weekend from the fish market and video arcade in the south boat marine side ( an got chased by Harbor patrol in golf carts, lol ) also on the jetties casting to the bubble using silver Crocodile spoons, clear plastic bubbles & fly's, also jointed Rapalas. I would get there at sun rise and kill em hard till around 9 when the bite would stop. THANKS for the updates and reminders Basstic's

  • if u dislike killing fish join PETA, otherwise shutup

  • What kind of rod and reel do you use for sand bass? What kind of line do you use? And jig?,

  • He sounds like a girl

  • those bonita would be fun on my 2lb 8' trout rod with mini jigs lol

  • awesome game plan

  • I didnt know that elfs culd fish

  • How old r u?

  • flagged. illegal activity

  • @fishingkayakphil flagged. Killjoy Tattle-tale.

  • i fish redondo almost every weekend and those big bonitos and definately picky unless you come across one school that goes nuts on the swimbaits...Redondo always produces the best fish....but the numbers aren't all that great.

  • Damn i wish i lived by the ocean...

  • If your a minor can they ticket you?

  • you are not allowed to fish in there.

  • Bonita will fight to the death haha great fighters at least in FL, but really haven't fished the west coast. great video and tips man.

  • Very cool vid. Bonita like to strike shiny fast lures like spoons, same as the macks. Usually, swimbaits don't really excite them enough to strike unless they are boiling on bait or already hunting. BTW, great job on advocating C&R!

  • @eliwoohoo the Bonito in the video aren't your typical bonito. They feed on micro bait in the morning and evening, and spend the day swimming lazily around the harbor. Spoons garner no attention, and swimbaits are often ignored. However, when you get on the right school at the right time, it can be very productive.

  • @thebassboyz Hm, next time that happens, try a small jerkbait. Like a yozuri pins minnow or a small rapala xrap. The combination of flash + erratic action may trigger reaction strikes better. You can also try bonito splashers with a bubble + feather. Give it a shot, let us know how you do.

  • @eliwoohoo we have caught them on jerbaits, and the bubble and fly can be productive, but generally they don't fair any better than the swimbait. The fish in the open harbor are often more aggresive and respond better to such presentaions. The fact of the matter is the back bay fish just aren't always interested in taking a chomp, just like breezing yellows will sometimes swim right through your offering without even giving it a look. . Thanks for eliwoohoo!

  • @eliwoohoo ..great job advocating C& R??..lol dont forget illegal fishing too.

  • @eliwoohoo is the fishing still good becuase of the oxygen drop

  • Hey nice fish. What id the adress of redando harbor, not the pier, but harbor. Can you please tell me? Im going fishing in a couple days and really want to go there. Thank you

  • hey man what rod and reel were u using cause i wana good smaller swimbait rod...cause i use my largemouth bass heavy fliping rod and a big old daiwa millionar reel on it...but its only good for throwing the 5inch baits or up

  • @xXcam0manXx

I fish either a Shimano Curado 200E7 on a Shimano Crucial MH Swimbait rod, or a Shimano Chronarch 200D7 paired with a Shimano Cumara 72MH.

  • wait, your saying its illegal to fish "from" the docks? or "along" the docks from shore?

I fish between the slips from shore but not on the docks, I've never had a problem.

  • @hunterfishman1 Technically speaking, unless you own a boat in the marina, you are not allowed to be on the docks unattended. Even boat owners are discouraged from fishing from anywhere other than the backs of their boats.

  • man can we please plan a to do some fishing together. I do the same type of fishing when im not on the boat and i would like to have some buddies to some harber fishing with me, especially you guys since you gusy have found some spots that i dont know about. 22nd street landing used to be a great place to harbor fish by the slips but its dead now:( so plz get back at me guys. great fishing.

  • @mfain2

Well if you can keep a low profile I don't see why not. I might try to put together a little expedition for those who might want to get into the action.

  • @thebassboyz Yeah no prob just when ever you guys put that expedition together, let me know I'll tag along

  • @thebassboyz I dont see why people need to keep a low profile....I have fished redondo thousands of time and i have fished the docks with no issue i have never had the harbor patrol say anything about fishing the docks....i dont see why it has to be such an expedition to fish a tiny harbor......For any one who wants to fish there on the docks just ask someone to let you in they do it with no issues.

  • @LCdownhill Agreed. I fished redondo almost every day last year and had no issues. However, the day before the above shown session, Harbor Patrol almost wrote me a ticket. We had to lay low for a little.

  • hey ive seen u remember i was that kid catching mackerel

  • Hey bro how often you fish here in this spot? i was wondering if we could fish together lmao no homo. you should try uni butter bass love em

  • I agree with the meat-head comment, I have a special spot in NPH that recently became targeted by the bucket-brigade.. It really pisses me off, because these jerks dont respect the water. They leave their discarded line all over the place, toss mussel shells all over, and throw garbage in the water. I just dont like being grouped with those jerks, I only take what i need, one or two croaker, or a few surfperch. Thats all i need... There were times where I had to keep a few to survive!

  • @mmmmmarcus cant agree with you enough

  • @mmmmmarcus I agree almost any one who fishes redondo is relentless on keeping every thing that they catch...i got in a fight with a guy 2 days ago about keeping a 5 in calico he caught on peas....and he insisted that it was legal until i reached in his bucket and threw it back....he was not happy but didnt argue with me .....he might have had to swim home if that happend....not to be an asshole but most are from the continent of ASIA and have no respect for our waters

  • I totally respect that. We need more people aggressively reacting towards regulation violation. No politician or MLPA zone will stop this problem. This one guy at seal beach kept an illegal 17 inch hali, and i snuck behind him and "accidentally" knocked it overboard. It was funny because I lied and told him an asian behind him took it. Then a fight broke out and both people got arrested. Poachers arent wanted here!! Nothing wrong about your comment, just look at japan.

  • @mmmmmarcus Ya there have been tons of times where i have got in arguments with morons about keeping micro calicos or tiny sculpin halibut .....i caught a guy snagging at redondo like 2 weeks ago and i made a huge deal and threatend to break his gear until it caused a huge scene and others joined in. he finally left...but the koreans and thai people that fish redondo are rediculous and soon california will be like japan catching 2 fish per week on a boat.

  • @LCdownhill its sad, I'm caught people keeping garibaldies and other illegal fish. Really a shame.

  • @thebassboyz ya its a bunch of shit ....i can truly say that those people who snag are useless and unsportsman like....and those who keep girabaldies and opel eye are completely retarted and should be drown.....

  • bassbrats.....

  • Nice catch, what rods are u guys using?

  • i never keep bass, but i do keep yellowtails

  • This was a great video, with lots of helpful info. Please keep it up!

  • Ahh brings back memories! Jeffery, can't wait to get out will all the bassboyz again.

  • Great video guys!

It's the same way fishing my marina in SD bay, if you look over 18 you're bound to get kicked out. Chances are I'll only pass for 17 for a few more months haha

    Great posts on bloodydecks btw

  • Seriously, if you guys want a few tips (not suggesting you guys aren't good...but I have about a decade longer string of lizard fish to my record) on catching toads in "MY" harbor, feel free to fire me a PM. I won't divulge shit here because I hate meat-heads (people who only look to the ocean for food) none the less, for those continuing the legacy of catch-and-release in salt water...they get the candy!

    -Oz

  • @Ozlanthos we look forward to seeing you down there sometime. Can't agree with you enough about the meat heads, it hurts my soul, if you know what I mean.
