I'd way rather have this than any benz, jag or stupid ferrari!
any one with money can buy a punk as ferrari but not everyone with money can find a perfect condition classic cadillac that is a rolling part of history unless they are lucky
MY GOD! What a absolutely beautiful car! Now that's what i call a Cadillac. Today's Cadillac is nothing compared to these. Your lucky if you get a single piece of chrome on them. And look at the room! You can actually fit a whole family or group of people inside comfortable with room to spare. And GM has the nerve to ask $50,000 + for there new junk?!
haha that's right, my father had one of these cadillacs, he once filled it up with 14 people, of course some of them in the trunk haha, but you could put 7 people in the seats and they would still feel really comfortable... about safety well, in those days i guess it was as safety as you could get, but you don't get this kind of luxury nowadays i mean... look at all that chrome!
I love the way people leave comments based on 2007 interpretations of cars and commercials. The point is this was a high-style car in 1958, and so was the commercial. My dad had a new '58 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible and we thought we were pretty smart. And it did not have seat belts, but somehow we all survived.
All the ad mentioned in terms of safety was the safety glass, and the host of many other safety features most likely consisted of the car being so big. This is while Volvo was installing 3 point seat belts standard on all of their cars and doing crash tests.
Well, you could (if you really wanted to) order the "optional" seat belts. But they were only available for the front seats. (I may be wrong about that part about just the front seats and encourage any correction.)
the commercials back then were 999,999,999,999,999% better and innosent than today's commercials in my final opinion everything from today sucks i really want a car from the 50's which is why i beg my mom to buy the lotto each day
Cadillac is still the king of luxury cars, and hope it will be in the future :D. This car is tha' bomb, it's big, it's strong, it inspires hugeness.. and it's very, very blingy :D Cool video man
No, Cadillac has lost its character(big time), American cars outside sport cars are in a stupid decadent period, under wrong hands. Cadillacs today are meaningless and lame, a little more and they look like an Accord. The Cadillacs with balls & beauty are in the past or concepts, what's released today is ridiculous. There was nothing like a Cadillac, I can't say the same anymore. Lets hope for a better future.
No other car in the history of the automobile has more designated classics than CADILLAC!
Cadillac is truly the KING of the automobile!

These are the days when car companies took time and effort into building their cars. Now of days cars are cookie cutter produced..
SteelCity1981 1 year ago
@SteelCity1981 But luxury brands still have more effort these days, except the focus is more on technology than style.

Thoose where the days...GM has now become like a fat american who cannot even move without help from the government. Really sad if you ask me
look at the american cars from the 50-60
great looking cars and now except for the new Ford Mustang, new Challenger and new Camaro nothing that you want to own.

Great ad. Even though I prefer the far better looking 1957 models, the heavy looking 58's were interesting to look at:)

WHAT A CAR..........so much classic on a car. Today's cars are overpriced and worthless. You cant tell a new car from an old one! no uniqueness

A 1958 Cadillac makes a brand-new Escalade look like an absolute shit box. Not even snoop-doggie can handle one of these.
