If you added the cue ball (for a 16th), and the sampled each ball's position enough times, what the result might sound like as a waveform when played back.
so you demonstrated something already understood and provable with a pencil, some paper, and a handful of equations. bravo citadel physics department. i rolled a red rubber kickball down a hill and called it a thesis.
This is a great analogy for humans as well. Not all of us resonate and move at the same speed. Sometimes we are all in synch and sometimes we are moving to the beat of our own drummer. Wonderful exercise. Thanks.
This is a primitive example of John Whitney's Differential Dynamics which he uses in his computer films. With the help of Mike Tusch and Dave Snowdon I have developed a harmonic maths on the shoulders of Whitney's principle which we call harmonic maths, which I used to generate music for Pete Townshend's Lifehouse-Method music project. With 30,000 points calculated in realtime the points go much further than double and triple!!! see my lawrenceball org site
@MRevolution44 just make one your self...its not that hard simply look up the plans online im sure someone has posted their own version...or just start from scratch and play with it and tweak it to be perfect.
This wave pendulum actually has three distinct patterns; the single wave and the double wave are pretty obvious- but if you look closely you can see a 'triple-wave' pattern that forms in between the single and double wave patterns. The patterns become less distinct however as the pendulum masses slow down (this particular wave pendulum needs to be more exact- we have to tweak it every now and again)

Were the lengths of the strings random or did you use mathematics? Would a single string accomplished the same thing?
186kms 1 month ago
@186kms
You can use Mathematics if you want to:
T ~ 2*pi*(L/g)^1/2
where:
T = the period of each pendulum
L = length of string holding it
g = Gravitational Acceleration
Buuuut as long as you have them equally spaced in length then it'll still give you the pattern.
i.e. the string holding the weight gets longer by the same amount each time.
That way all the nice resonances will show up :D

@MaxPowerzs
The artist is Dan Sindel(mentioned in the credits.)
Here is a link to it:

Apparently he plays a lot of symphonic music for electric guitars.
