do you think that No.4920 Dumbleton hall and No.7802 Bradley Manor would be able to go into cornwall i was told only at certain weel inch is allowed into cornwall to penzance
I would think that it is no problem for a Hall or a Manor. The reason the Kings were prohibited originally I think was due to weight restriction on the Tamar Royal Albert bridge. I could be wrong. I don't believe wheel diameter plays a part.
Nice footage. I prefer to see close up's even if the loco's are stationary rather than out of focus film from hundreds of yards away as some people would post.
You can see Steve Underhill from the 6024 society inspecting the piston steam leak on the King. Personally I like the flat sided tenders on the Castle, but I'm told they are not the best from a crew point of view.
So you are the guy in the blue hoodi. Very decent of you to duck out the way, thank you. Most of the adults will not do that, and some are so selfish they just push their way into your shot. My niece who was with me got very angry with chap that walked across my shot on the platform edge of the two loco's coming in.
The bridge is accessed from Par Moor Road just past the Wyevale Garden Centre if you are travelling towards Par Docks. It is a gravel track that leads through the golf course. The golfers use it as the course is split by the railway. Easy to find on Google maps.
Hehe! Lovely! I was on that train traveling in the 2nd coach. You can see my head out of the window. 2nd door. The Castle was doing most of the work! Thanks for sharing. It was a good run down :-)
I would like to film more from the train, but loads of folk have the same idea. Every door window taken. So pick a spot lineside and hope for the best. I have chased around the roads trying to get to a place before the train. Not always successful. Or I've had a long wait for a few seconds. Worth it in the end though.
i know what you mean. I was very very lucky to grab a window becasue i had a hug travelling bag with me because i was doing a navy camp the following day for a week

It must have been a great experience. Wish I'd been on it. But then I would not have the shots I do.

I was happy to ride on it at the time. Now I would probably like to film a special like this more.
