Many centuries later americans invent another game with a ball and call it football and rename Orgininal true football "soccer". Thats not how things work fella. Europe has Football and America has either "American football" or "Soccer(yeah, eat ur own silly name)". So, Al did not play footbal. Al played American football.

@MrMetsakurat uhh... "soccer" was something the British came up with, the term I mean. It was a shorthand for "association football" so as to distinguish it from "Rugby union rules football". The American game is based on the Rugby rules version of the game. Because Association Football is far more popular than the "rugby rules", they don't need to call if "soccer" in England. "Football" by default means the association rules there (and in other English speaking countries not the USA or Canada).
