@cznuk Finding a quality jumps coach is really tough. If your third phase is killing you try long jumping off of that leg in practice. Also focus on your posture and knee drive in that phase.
@SkinMechanic65 Thanks a lot and I agree 100% about the hop and approach. I think my hop was flat because I slowed down and reached before the board and I was definitely stiff in the approach and I couldn't even tell you why. Lots to improve upon in the coming seasons!
im not sure what im doing wrong, i know im not consistant and flexibilty is also part of it.... check one of my videos out. Type in Richmond triple jumping and it should be a red track and posibly the third one. Get back to me when you can plz.
@winfred15 Yup, my reply was after watching your Richmond jump. If you feel your flexibility is an issue then be sure to stretch before bed (30 second stretches for each muscle). In your jumping though work on getting a little more height on your hop while attempting to maintain speed; for starters.
@winfred15 Sure; I'd say that the main thing is to try and get a little more out of your hop. Add a little height to it in order to get some distance. The ultimate goal is to maintain top speed through the board and your first phase but still get some distance out of it. It's easier to maintain speed if you have a flat hop but your jumps may not be as far so you have to give yourself a chance. Also, work on foot placement and posture both at the board and when transitioning to your step phase.
@Skates2much Because I didn't really want to jump far. JK JK,
Running through the board was something I wasn't able to do the whole season and I think it's mostly because I didn't have confidence in my approach and never really developed a consistent rhythm. The whole walking into the approach was also a switch that I made this season. It will all be fixed this season and beyond though so this 17.01m will be much much further; you can count on that lol.
Hey great jump man, keep working hard !

I wish I had someone to really teach me how to triple jump.
I'm 5'9", 140 lbs with a best of 45'7.5", but with no real technique.
All I was told from my coaches was to make my second phase bigger.
My third phase also kills me a lot.
