Those of you still wondering how to recreate such sounds, of the 5 controls on the Zvex Fuzz Factory, only 2 control the oscillations: the stability and the gate knobs. The stability mostly control the frequency/pitch of the oscillations, while the gate knob controls the intensity/type of the oscillations. Both knobs while cranked to max stop the oscillations however and they interact very much. Stability controls the circuit's input voltage while gate controls the signals link to ground...
@TimeWolf26 Didn't know that's what he had. All I know is that on mine the best results I have had are with the Gate and Stab knobs. If the gate is "closed", the pedal can't oscillate, and if its always open, you get some noise between notes so its not quite ideal. I can't think Matt plays with the Gate open at all times.
Mostly I used the Comp knob to control the tone and compression of the distortion, I'll dig in a bit more and play with those two a bit and get back to you.
@Lutgerion It is a pedal, and the difference is that as someone else said he has it built into his guitar. When you let go of a note (so he's not using the fretboard at all) the FF oscillates a lot and you can use one of the knobs to change the pitch of the oscillation. Since it's built into his guitar the knob is just right there below the bridge
what i don't understand is that he uses this plate thingy on some guitars but only the fuzz probe has this. Does he switch between fuzz factory and fuzz probe?
@OmahaRecords Yeah well your stupid. The guitars he uses for Plug in baby don't have a kaoss pad. Don't you dare try to outsmart us when you are clearly wrong. Do more research faggot.
matt has 3 variations and much more but i can't be bothered to name them all :P there is the fuzz probe wah, which is the copper plate from the pedal put on the guitar body, when he has the 2 knobs its a fuzz factory and when he has the glowing plastic pad its a kaoss pad which he can use to control pretty much anything even the lighting rigs!
@winger15mk The white square behind his bridge is the kaoss pad, and thats where the crazy all-over-the place oscillator sound is coming from; but he could be running that through a fuzz factory.
@samc926 You are a moron the knobs control a zvex fuzz factory pedal that is put inside a hollowed section of the body .... the Kaoss pad is actually called is a midi controler touch screen also built into matts guitar, its the lighted touch pad that he drags with a pick or finger, the video doesnt even include any of his guitars with the kaoss pad in them. Get your facts straight before you open your trap.
I don't think that any one of these was from Super Massive Black Hole because they were so old and I've never seen him playing SMBH with that guitar.....but New Born was there.
