  • This was on BBC4 last night. They are re-showing old editions of top of the pops. This one was originally aired on the 22nd of April 1976. Great performance, great song!

  • the best soul singer we have ever produced in England. seem him live 3 times and met him once and he was nice. he asked if we could record his cd for him and send it him in the post cause it was deleted and he sent back a signed picture. what a story though

    Before the Vagabonds he was in various late 60´s bands, and after J.James worked in the West End in Jesus Christ superstar. Worked as a solo guitar vocalist,and with bands along with myself, and is now Paul Carrack´s guitarist. He is actually a very talented performer with a big personality.

    The bass player Alan Wood is now a booking agent for the likes of aforementioned Mr. Carrack etc

  • I remember the Count. He was superb! I thought he called himself Count Rupert. He was always with J.J. and the Vagabonds when I used to see them regularly at the old Marquee.

  • Anyone remember "The Count", lead singer for this band in the sixties? "Under the Board Walk" was brilliant. I used to see them at Kimbell's and The Birdcage Club, both in Southsea.

    he's bald now but man what a great show.

  • fantastic live performance from jimmy and his vagabounds wich was produced and composed by disco producer BIDDU (he did also very succesful Carl Douglas "Kung fu fighting" 1974 and a 6 succesful singles for Tina Charles in 1975,76,77 and 78)
