@Rocker2720 I'm sorry Rocker2720 but I don't use Tabs. Tabs would be difficult to read for this riff anyway as there are too many 'short' notes. Just listen to a line at a time and just play it slowly and then speed up as you feel comfortable. I use a finger/pluck style which I developed over the years; this gives my sound a certain syncopation that I find helpful. If you add the pull/pluck to your finger style, it will broaden your sound. Have fun!
so is playing the bass all about picking rather than strumming like playing a guitar i just started playing bass for my church and im pretty much self teaching myself so i was wondering if there were anything more than just tabbing the chords on the bass?
@Lonehawk2k4 Dude, this is just one player's opinion but my feeling is that having as many weapons in your arsenal the better. I never used a pick and I regret it. Every method that you can use broadens your sounds. I also wish I knew more about chords so having that background will surely help you when you play the big strings. Enjoy yourself whatever you do!
@chickenfootkiss not really ... depends on the bass i'm playing. urban dictionary says "although they are often teased by faggoty emo/metal junkies. nipple riders are the only ones who can actually play a note properly" :)
@zepever sure ... don't get osteo-arthritis when you're 50 so you can't play for shit any more. seriously though ... love playing, copy your heroes, develop your own unique playing style, and remember that playing is a life long road; it takes a long time to get good so be patient. thanks for nice comment :)
omg this was soooooo sick!! I looked up the tabs earlier and thought they would be boring to play, didn't think about adding some slap into the mix it sounds really great!
@HepiMonstrz Thanks man. The Dingwall is intense; fanned fingerboard, tight-ass B, and Glockenklang preamp is something else. Don't ask me what it cost though .. DOH!
@danhildebassman im a girl actually :D i can only imagine how good it sounds because of the sound quality... at the moment im using fender jazz bass reggie hamilton signature but i really need to get a good preamp
@HepiMonstrz Nice bass ... it's hard for me to recommend a pre-amp without knowing about your cabs and desired sound .. but my all time favorite pre-amp is the Tech21 RBI Sansamp single space rackmount. I'll still call you dude, though, if you don't mind .. cause you're cool :)
Dude do you have tabs for this?
