3D games are slow on Nokia N96. Because this phone doesn't have an 3D accelerator graphics card. N95 is better at 3D games, because it has an accelerator.

yeah i have the n95 8gb and its the best nokia phone yet, only thing is no expansion slot. 8 gb really isnt eough for me. and the n96, as you can see, is really slow.

Look at my point, you go to a place where you dont have anything to do. Waiting for your turn in a medical center. You grab your phone and play a little. You cannot take your xbox there. N95 8GB is among few other nokias that support openGL

how does it records in a noisy enviroment?...like in a concert. does it isolate the sound so dat the recording won`t be noisy?

Hi we have only done a basic video recording test so far and it seems to pick up our voice ok and the image is relatively clear from a given distance, however it does produce a fair bit of background static. So some editing to your videos would be required to get the noise reduced.

n95 8gb is really much better (and aesthetically much better)... if only they can open the memory card slots and add xenon flash, there's no reason to upgrade (downgrade?) for atleast several years. :)

Lol, in Aus, the n96 isn't out on 3 mobiles yet but I do know that it has 16gb - 24gb memory so you can watch videos you had transferedfrom pc - phone and there is a tv tuner as well.

Hi, we have got the final N96 release now and have just done a battery test and got just over 4 hours of video playback with the back-light on full.

The N96 TV-tuner is included but there is currently no support for the platform in the UK - 2009 or 2010 there will be.

I agree the 3D chip is not as good as the one in the N95 having said that..

it's possible the 3D opengl routines are not being accessed you're just using standard graphics no hardware acceleration at all, and global racer could 1 day be updated to use the newer routines on the N96.

n95 is a lot better than n85 on gaming.

Looking at the same link now, Nokia have removed it!

erm but i found out on forums and blogs that the 3d chip on n96 is not as good as the one on n95, n95 8gb and n82 which is the Texas Intruments OMAP 2420. Although the chip on n96 was said to be more power saving..
