Franken on Air America, and in his books, comes across as a true scholar. And funny too, when he needs to be. But that's not important or even relevant to Barone, who makes his ideological point as a GOP hack making fun of this smart man. Then again, I can't see Barone laughing at the chaos left by Bush, cause it must hurt.

Thankfully, Al Franken is now US Senator, and Norm "I don't want to concede" Coleman, is now at home doing the dishes. Incompetent Republicans who trashed this nation the last 8 yrs, who got us into 2 failed, ongoing, unpaid for wars, who botched the all-important job of keeping us safe (on 9/11), and who doubled the Natl Debt to $12 trillion, while trainwrecking the economy, are beyond this bloggers idea of a MONSTER?? The final quote you use is from an SNL character he did. Might help your cause if you actually listened to his political statements and countered those. You could maybe argue against him that the Iraq war has been great and that corporations don't need to be regulated to protect consumers and workers, and that universal health care is impossible even though every other industrialized nation has it.

I know that, just trying to figure out what about him wouldn't make him fit for office. The attributes I think of when I think of him are intelligent, compassionate (not the fake 2000 campaign bush kind), and humor.
