I've never encountered any of those problems. Maybe you have a bad computer or an older version. You use Ubuntu, right? Try using the newest version on a new(ish), good computer. See what happens then.

I don't really know what the key is used for either. My guess is the key opens an invisible door that helps you get out of the castle. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't...

well i use Mozilla Firefox but any other videos i watch are perfectly fine

Some videos are less laggy than others, and Firefox does not support flash video as well as some other browsers. Try out Google Chrome. The support flash player really well. Very little lag if any at all.

In my opinion the castle boss for world 2 is very easy, probably easier than salvo. Salvo's not really hard, but he can be annoying.

You can get the boss into the lava and he dies that way too, but it is very hard because he needs to be in the poerfect position.
