Rev. Billy is an actor and this is called street theater. Billy uses this persona he created to bring attention to things that are horribly wrong in our world. He does it without violence and with a bit of humor. BP is responsible for destroying the Gulf. Tar Sands aren't just a Canadian issue since there's a proposal on the table to run the tar through a pipeline through the entire US down to the Gulf. We don't want it here and you shouldn't want it there either.

I think unless you don't drive a car or use petroleum products, you can't really support this. It's a bit hypocritical to think BP is the only evil oil company because they had an accident. They are supplying a product that we are all addicted to.

If they're willing to give some of their money to the arts, well let them! The arts are underfunded in this climate. They need the funds!
