That is absolutely amazing... only problem is that girl was horrendous with typing.. Using a calculator I, and I am not exceptional (try this yourself), reached 2584 on my first try. I am a piano player, but still... Just use your index and middle finger of your right hand and index finger of your left hand pressing "+" and "3" with your right and "4" with your left.. You will go much further than he does if you don't mess up.
@bofawziii I'm no mathematician so correct me if I'm wrong but if n/0 = ∞ than 0*∞ = n which is impossible if n ≠ 0 because any number multiplied by zero is 0.
@GrriizzIIyy (n/x where x -> 0 ) = infinity. n/0 is undefined.
btw, the most impressive feat this guys is doing was the 3rd root of the big number. that is, if he had never seen 87^3 before, he could just have remembered it. (like he could be remembering a lot of square and cube numbers.)
Just watched some of his vids and in ALL of them he starts adding .. multiply (always 2digit2xdigit..then division (always 9 digit / 1 digit) then cubic root then the endless adding...
Then the memory lobe is most active? Sounds like he got a good memory to me
2:44 he would obviously win because the calculator doesn't show the full calculation until you hit equals sign but he can work it out in his head as they say it.
alright fuck it. I hate the fact the program make it like it something special to calculate the cube root of digit number.. 658 is more than 8^3=512 and less than 9^3= 729 so the first digit 8 and you take the last digit of the number that you want the square root is in his example it was 3. and you need to find what cube of the 9 first cube ends 3 and that is 7^3 which is 343. Thumbs up for me and not for scott flnsburg and the program makers:)
If he can calculate faster than any person on earth then why he doesn't hold any world championship.. It's either because he's not as fast as they claim because people do lie to make their programs more interesting or because he makes errors. In either case it would mean that he's not the best.. They cube root of a whole two digit number is very easy to get.. Most highschool teachers know the trick you should ask them..
this guy is fucking annoying, he preaches about how memorizing numbers is terrible and how it should be removed from the school systems, but at 8:07 the memory lobe is most active when he calculates numbers, also, he tries to promote the idea that math is fun and that calculators are a crutch, when he has a brain that works differently than a normal brain, so how does that make him credible for saying math is easier w/o a calculator...?
@kirbyrules16 His the human calculator. Not the human library. He said it himself he doesnt memories. He just calculates thats why his called the human calculator. Unless you gave him a problem and the answer to that math problem is pi and yes thats the time he will be saying the pi ^,..,^
He said he had not seen a doctor ever before. Did he see this doctor before the Super Humans doctor? The Super humans doctor that studied him came to a better conclusion.
As for the division by 7. Most people give divisors of 7 because its a tough number to divide by because the decimals are hard to figure out. Thats because people dont see the pattern of 1/7th!
1/7 = 0.142857142857142857 = 14 28 57 repeated
so 2/7 = 0.2857142857...
So the decimal portion is not particularly amazing either.
Theres no doubt he is good, but hes not as good as he seems. He is using techniques developed by "Vedic Mathematics". They are math shortcuts to very specific types of questions like the cube root. He figured it out like this:
658,503 -> split into 2 groups of 3.
658 503 -> look at last digit of 2nd group, 3, by the technique the answer is X7
658.... 658 is bigger than 8^3 but smaller than 9^3 so X = 8
the answer is , you have a prt of the brain for numbers (math) and his isnt in that spot. the math is in the part of the brain that controls persice movments such as eye movment
Nothing can compare with the human brain. Calculator sucked before him. I hope I had kind of brain to defeat all chess machines which are playing better than human now. Calculate all moves in seconds and make fool the chess engines.
@pimpin2334 - thanks for the heads-up though..... i'm thankful i'm not as genius as he is, coz everybody would shoot me like what i'm doing. :) appreciate it.
He does it somehow using 9, the greatest of all in any number. Somehow he prolly rounds it off, then remembers all the numbers that he rounded it to, then subtracts it from his rounded answer, thus giving him the answer. Not so much sure about the cubed roots tho...
think a number, then do it x2 +8 :2 -your number(lets say when i told you to think a number you thought 5 you -that number, you -5)and the number in your mind is 4...and for all haters dont +8 just plus 525 the number in your mind is 262.5 not convinced yet? +324 your number is 162...if you want more just sub me and i will do it right away
heheh .. Do you find scott impressive , Take a look at someone faster than him a lot .. he s name is RUDIGER GAMM a German citizen, he s a lot faster than him and more impressive , i am sure that scott could not handle him ....
Scott is totally amazing.. I knew Scott in Basic Training in the Air Force in 1982. He was good then, but has expanded his skills exponentially. I knew back then that he was going to go places.
this guy is obviously a retard "all of this means that scott has a remarkable more-than-human brain that works like none other"- er no it doesn't you fag, didn't you hear the doctor? he has the same brain, he just uses it differently.
@chessdude1000 he beat her because she had the wrong total... 343 is not a mutliple of 34 (obviously) and what's more impressive is that he knew where and what was the wrong button she pressed..
besides the cube root trick, giving long division of short numbers with periods, there is no real difference in calculating the first digit behind the decimal point or any number of them, if you know the period. period of 1/7 is 142857, so if the first digit is 2, the rest is 857 142857 142857, and if it is 5, the rest is 7 142857 142857, and same for 1, 4, 8, 7 :)
magicians use rings with 142857 printed/embossed in some tricks too :)
And THATS why calculators were made. So that humans can only attempt, maybe with a single succeeding, to re-enact calculators. So that we, average, mundane human beings can live the rest of our lives without numerical distractions.
A little too pompous for general appreciation of talent. Talking about the "easy stuff"? and the boasting about how he is "lazer-like". Yeah gee dude you're a genius beyond measure but you're not the only type of talent here.
like he said. its like his 2nd nature. his a MUTANT!!!! his not even solving. his like just counting. hope he can solve {sine, cosines, tangeant} something like that!. then his gonna be a "human scientific calculator"
I'm not saying this guy isn't absolutely amazing, but the cube root part is a total trick. Anybody can do it just as fast as he can.... it's not math. All you have to do is memorize the cubes of 1 through 9. When given a number, say, 658,503... just what the first three digits are: 658. This is above the cube of 8, 512, but below, the cube of 9, 729. So the first digit is 8. 503 ends in a 3... so does the cube of 7. So the number is 87. Sounds complicated but it's actually really easy.
I watched a show on him last night. And it turns out the the part of you brain. (area 44) that does math, is hardly active and the part of the brain he uses when doing math is the part that controls movement which causes him to get complex answers without even thinking about doing it. Which is what we do when moving. We do complex movements without thinking.
i saw a show that says the way it works is a part of his brain called area 41 (this is were we solve math problums) is in a diffrent position and is in the same area as basic functions like movment so solveing problums is like moveing your hand to him. And i would love to be able to do that.
I say they make a math challenge/test show for him and Rudiger Gamm. I don't know who is faster but these two are cut from the same cloth. Awesome to watch.
That is absolutely amazing... only problem is that girl was horrendous with typing.. Using a calculator I, and I am not exceptional (try this yourself), reached 2584 on my first try.
