if you look on the inside of driver side door there is a plate that tells you where your vehicle is manufactured. my 2008 vw gti is manufactured in wolfsburg germany where all other gti's are made. the jetta and rabbit are made in mexico. either way they are all recommended on consumer reports there haven't been any major issues with any of them.

What is happening there is the MPS driver is a douche & the MPS has way more power than a FWD can use, particularly in a straight line like that. I've raced a few of the MPS's in my GTI, and IF they get a good start there is (if your lucky) half a length in it. Thankfully most guys that drive MPS3's are teenagers that got sucked in by the "fully sik" big numbers it produces.
80-120kph is a different story, thats where the Mazdas engine shines, and a fat load of good that is on public roads.
So many of you have no idea, that is a MS3 (MPS3), the hood, wheels and rear (check the diffuser) all give it away. If you can't see that get on a computer with a better screen FFS. Can't hear a turbo, no shit, listen to the back ground noise and the tyres.

the Mk5 GTI is trying to make himself look good. That mazda is by no means a MazdaSpeed 3. Its a regualar Mazda3 you can tell by the body style. Lack of a large spoiler, lower hood, differnt rims. I have a mazda3 and a mazdaspeed 3 i can easily tell the differents. and that there is a Mazda3. so the race was more like 200hp vs 160hp and imo that means the gti owner should be crying cuz that 160hp mazda3 kept pace whith his 200hp gti

We all know MPS is quicker, allot quicker. So this is just another stupid video. They are not even in the same class, stock vs stock there is no comparison.

Ok, one of my best friends drives a MS3 and I drive a MKV GTI and I will tell you all the truth, they are the same in 1st and 2nd gear, as soon as we hit 3rd the MS3 is gone with a 4 car length win. Thats nothing a stage 1 reflash cant fix though. We have videos of me dusting him from a roll twice, but when he gets things right, I cant touch him

The reason the GTI won is because by the time the MS3 got the max HP to the pavement, the GTI was off and accelerating. The MS3 was still climbing the powerband to get to those over-rated 260 HP while the GTI had all the power at 1800 RPM.
I know the MS3 has maybe 280 lb. ft. of torque. What about the GTI? Hard to believe it has 60 less hp but steal beat the MS3. Maybe the torque is higher than the MS3???
Yeah I was at the local drag strip here in Orlando and some dude with a 07 GTI and I were talking.. He even told me the car is crap and wishes he could get a mazdaspeed3. He tried but he was only offered 15k for his GTI!

sorry guys, but there has not been a VW to keep up with me yet. MS3 does take some time to learn how to drive, especially shifting 1000rpms before redline and a good launch. but even without that, by 3rd gear the VW would be in my rear view mirror.
you are right, you have a faster car than the gti, but its still a mazda. new VW's have very good build quality and excellent balance, i would prefer that over a slightly faster car with poor build quality and interior.
I am a gti owner and I say it can be done, gti with a good driver or dsg will beat your mazdaspeed3, at low it will be close, but at higher speeds your zoom zoom does not have a chance that's it.
If you said a gti was less heavy and less torque resulting in a cleaner take off then you might have a case. What you just said goes against all logic. How would a less powerful car with a smaller engine and a less factory tuned top speed beat a car with more power and a higher top end speed, which the cars weight is just about on par??? the Mk5 GTI is trying to make himself look good. That mazda is by no means a MazdaSpeed 3. Its a regualar Mazda3 you can tell by the body style. Lack of a large spoiler, lower hood, differnt rims. I have a mazda3 and a mazdaspeed 3 i can easily tell the differents. and that there is a Mazda3. so the race was more like 200hp vs 160hp and imo that means the gti owner should be crying cuz that 160hp mazda3 kept pace whith his 200hp gti

the reason that could make the gti win is if it had a dsg gearbox that makes the 0 to 60 time the same and the mazda or bad driving.
about the build quality i dont know hawe a mazda is build so no comment there.
and i dont know how they make vw over in mexico bet i live in europe here there made verry good i drive a golf4 and compared too other hatchbacks over here its a verry decent car.

Ok, one of my best friends drives a MS3 and I drive a MKV GTI and I will tell you all the truth, they are the same in 1st and 2nd gear, as soon as we hit 3rd the MS3 is gone with a 4 car length win. Thats nothing a stage 1 reflash cant fix though. We have videos of me dusting him from a roll twice, but when he gets things right, I cant touch him

Someone with a modded GTI in New England please step up and run my mazda please.. so we can end all of this. Honestly..the kid in that ms3 couldnt drive. Any GTI on the stock turbo with ANY mods in NE post up. We need some friendly, filmed runs to put this all to rest.

i had a guy with a black GTI comment me on my black speed3 with mazda installed intake and exhaust. he wanted to make a run with me, but i dont street race and i woulda kicked his 200hp ass , him being stock anyways. speed all the way. get 2 good drivers, no gti can touch us

The reason the GTI won is because by the time the MS3 got the max HP to the pavement, the GTI was off and accelerating. The MS3 was still climbing the powerband to get to those over-rated 260 HP while the GTI had all the power at 1800 RPM.

I know the MS3 has maybe 280 lb. ft. of torque. What about the GTI? Hard to believe it has 60 less hp but steal beat the MS3. Maybe the torque is higher than the MS3???

Yeah I was at the local drag strip here in Orlando and some dude with a 07 GTI and I were talking.. He even told me the car is crap and wishes he could get a mazdaspeed3. He tried but he was only offered 15k for his GTI!

and for 2005 the GTI vs the SI vs the cobolt ss..the GTI outperforms ere way possible..and VS areknown for BEAUTIFUl interiors for the price you pay for a car..its the closest thing to low based luxury with performance you can buy other then an acura(which i also owned an RSX type S)..mazda is NOT anyway shape or form luxurious at all..

Sorry but Mazda is a jap company, you own nothing more than a honda in mazda clothing, the only advantage the speed3 has over a GTI in anything is its slightly faster and the GTI is more moddable so thats only for stock comparisons.
Enjoy your speed3, when it falls apart and i roll by you, ill only laugh at you for a little while and feel sorry for you the rest of the time.

I drove a vw ages ago, sure its a good build car. But it does drive a like 2nd rate turbo car when compared to a wrx or mazdaspeed 3.
The whole debate happens due to jealous gti drivers that can't get over the fact the mazdaspeed is the quickest front wheel drive hot hatch. They are jealous and they know it. oooo what torque steer pfft it's only like a little bit plus if you didn't have girlyman arms it wouldn't be a issue.

sorry guys, but there has not been a VW to keep up with me yet. MS3 does take some time to learn how to drive, especially shifting 1000rpms before redline and a good launch. but even without that, by 3rd gear the VW would be in my rear view mirror.

B. If you have gti drivers here saying that can't be done THEN it cant be done.
C. The only way a gti could get ahead of a mps 3 is from take off, if the mps 3 driver is a newbie and cops to much wheel spin.

I am a gti owner and I say it can be done, gti with a good driver or dsg will beat your mazdaspeed3, at low it will be close, but at higher speeds your zoom zoom does not have a chance that's it.

If you said a gti was less heavy and less torque resulting in a cleaner take off then you might have a case. What you just said goes against all logic. How would a less powerful car with a smaller engine and a less factory tuned top speed beat a car with more power and a higher top end speed, which the cars weight is just about on par??? You go if it was a *good driver*, well if the mazdaspeed was a *good driver*. It wouldnt happen.
