In GA it was 10 minutes at the courthouse, 2 mins at the sheriffs office, then an 8 day wait for my ccw licences to come in the mail. Very easy, very quick process.
So that sucks lol, i guess being a Vet. Of the Marine Corp. all that i need in ohio is my discharge paper, a passport pic and $67 for the fee.. Normally you have to have range time and a class. I can't believe Texas is more strict! Wayyyyy more strict lol
I'm taking the CHL class this Sunday at Black Hawk shooting range for $70.00 + $10.00 range fee. I talked to a friend and she said it was $140.00 to file paperwork to TX. Range is 20@ 3yds, 20@7yds, and 10@15yds. I practiced and scored a 250 with a Glock 30SF .45acp. Also have a Glock 23 gen4 .40s&w. I actually shoot better with the G30 SF. Bring on the test!
@oilhammer04 haha u r one pussy ass little bitch. get a fucking clue. if u get offended by a word then u live a sad sheltered life. no seriously, what is wrong with u? well, that is all. go fuck urself.
In order to get a CCL in Boston, MA, you have to take a safety class, pass a shooting test, have a clean record (no exceptions) and all of the contingencies that you mentioned in your video - plus $100.00 non-refundable fee. In the city limits they rarely give out CCL licenses unless you are law inforcement, an attorney or an MD (doctor). Luckily, I'm an attorney and got a CCL - Class A license with no restrictions. The whole process took 5 months! MA is terrible for gun rights.
In Montana you have to have a license for a CCW, but without it you can technically carry a gun in the open, like a pistol in a showing holster or something, as long as you're not pointing it at random people obviously, the police can't do anything.
What's the law in Texas concerning making a video while driving. If it isn't against the law it should be. If you want to make a vid make a vid. If you want to drive, drive. Don't mix the two. And Texas gave you a permit to carry a gun? Unbelieveable. You might try cleaning up your f-ing language, too.
And pay an xtra fee, which I ended up paying 34.95 to the business which covered state fee and paid the 10 dollar fee to local police and received my permit within 7 days.
I live in Indiana, they offer two choices for a gun permit...4 yr personal protection or lifetime personal protection, and we are an open carry state...lifetime costs 125 dollars total..pay 75 to state and 50 to local police which includes fingerprints..4 yr costs 40 dollars total..pay 30 to state and 10 to local and it takes about 4 to 6 weeks to get permit in the mail. You can also expedite the process by having your fingerprints done electronicly at a certified business
Here in ny you have to get a CCW before you can even OWN or SHOOT a handgun and you have to take a class and all the shit and it takes like fucking forever before they approve you
@NeverEnuffAmmo Right? I plan to move as soon as I can lol... We also still have the 1994 assult weapons ban still in place and can only have a 10 RD magazine
man i live in Texas so i have had my license to carry since i was robbed at gun point but i think everyone should have the right to carry without a fucking license except for the hardcore thugs. i mean if everbody had guns someone would think twice about robbing someone
Virginia is toooo easy besides being a lovely open carry state all you have to do is take firearms training and a lil range time with no silly qualifications or if youre law enforcement or military (which is alot in northern and eastern VA) photocopy your ID or DD 214 pay 50 bucks wait 45 days and thats it Texas sounds ridiculous LMAO
@GsUp82 Yeah go through a bit to get our license & it ain't cheap but the up side is that every state other than CA, MA & NY honor our license, our license is honored by more states than anyone elses, it also allows us to bypass not only ours & federal governments but also every other states background checks for gun purchases & ATF dealings, no other state's license does that much. We don't have to take any training or range time, just take the written & shooting test. Its is all done in a day.
@NeverEnuffAmmo I would trot across the border to Virginia if if weren't for the fact that I have my elderly and physically challenged mother to look after.
@NeverEnuffAmmo Wow man I thought in Texas it would be alot easier than here in Pennsylvania. I was wrong ,25 bucks and a trip to the courthouse for a background check and in a week I had my carry license. My sister lives in Texas and she just bought a Lady smith .357 magnum revolver and she is planning on getting her license. I will have to share this with her thanks. Also here you dont have to let them know what you are planning on carrying. In my opinion this whole process is about money.
@efrey614 Yeah there is alot of buerocracy in getting your CHL here, our laws are actually extremely gun friendly and favor the gun owners and carriers as opposed to many other state where burden of proof falls to the gun owner in any situation where a law enforcement or a court is concerned. But yeah they make up for it with the hoops u have to jump through to get your license, but once you've done it we are a shall issue state so your guaranteed to get your license.
@bigdaddyitalia22 Well that may just be a Missouri thing, I know in Texas and several other states the license is seperate and u don't have an option to get it attached to your license. I can't see many pros or cons either way except for not having to worry about 2 ID's when u carry, but other than that I don't see it making much of a difference
In Idaho if you are in the military or were in the military you can go in and show proof of weapons qualification and get your CCW without having to take the class. I took the class and enjoyed it, learned a lot of laws and regulations, but did it mainly just to see what everyone else's carry weapons were, and get some free range time.
yeah, every state definitely has their own rules. In Idaho too, if you are outside the city limits like in the hills camping, hunting, etc you can conceal carry without a license. Its interesting to here how other states' laws are though. I figured Texas had a concealed carry license vending machine as I always thought that Texas was the most gun friendly state out there but I guess its not.
@wildbill23c It's gun friendly in many areas, but carry still seems to be a sore spot for some liberals in the Austin political circle. We have been rated number 1 in laws protecting gun owners and individuals who had to actually use a firearm in defense, we have alot of laws protecting people who have to use a firearm along with more situations in which we can legally shoot someone other than just in a life or death situation. I could legally shoot someone for trying to steal my car
Same here I took the class just haven't had the money to get my permit, plus now that I don't have a job I've had to sell all of my guns anyhow so there's no reason to have a permit.
The requirements, test and qualifying here in CA are about the same. The BIG difference is that your local law enforcement gets to decide of you're worthy, regardless of passing everything. Some places just flat don't approve CCW permits. But there actually are places, mostly in the mountains, that approve just about everything.
@ElDub50 Yeah I've got a friend who live there and he told me that in the northern part of the state CCW's are actually pretty popular and fairly east to get.
@NeverEnuffAmmo Yep, I'm lucky to be in one of those friendly counties. Was scheduled to take my CCW class tomorrow but had to postpone it due to work. I've subbed to 2 or 3 Ytubers up in this area. I'll have to try making some vids someday soon.
for real? and you're from texas? i thought texas was a southern state and not a pussy bitch state like NY or CA, or any other place where they have fucked up gun laws yet fags can get married. anyway, mine was $50 and a background check, no classes. i'm from bama, the heart of dixie.
@Szalaszi Yeah it's a pain in the ass here. The good thing about texas is we can carry loaded in vehicles w/o a license, and we have excellent protection laws for gun owners if u ever do have to shoot someone, even over property, u can't get sued, and u can shoot someone for stealing someone else's property if u have permission from the property owner and it's all legal. So our laws concerning what happens after u shoot and when u can shoot are actually so of the best in the country
4 hour class here in fl. ,lot of hands on senario's with fake guns ,with class participation ,then fire 20 rounds with stoping between rounds turning, checking your suroundings and doing different shout outs ie. (some one call 911 etc.)so that people around, know your the good guy,our class was 8 people, our NRA shooting instructor ,used to be a bank teller ,she was robbed and shot w/a 357,my buddy in alabama just goes down to the court house and gives them $25 and they give him his permit
@thechevyscrounger a 4 hour class sounds alot better than the 10 hour class we took, but then again our class only had about 4 hours of actual info and testing anyway ..... lol
@NeverEnuffAmmo yea ,and i remember bitching about the 4 hour class ,thinking ,what the hell are we going to do for 4 hours ,but the time went fast ,and honestly ,we were all into in to having a good time ,i could of hung out awhile longer ,we paid him $100 and the state $112 BTW he had an indoor range in a semi trailer in a industrial area ,so we never had to leave the place
Take a 8 hour class with the same shooting test that you did, but with 6 rounds twice with our dominent hand and 6 rounds once with a two handed grip.
Semi-autos are model spec, but revolvers are not.
then a 50 question test.
the class i took was good for Nv, Ut, and Fl.
I then had to go to Vegas to pay $100.25 fee, get finger-printed, and a photo taken.
Hey Matt. I hope you read this. Earlier I asked you about CHL classes because of a video that you did about 2 or 3 months ago. Anyways. Have you seen this?
defensiveimpact(dot)com/?page_id=140
I wanted to know if this is a scam. I saw it in Texas Gun Traders dot com
@texastitansyahoocom Its perfectly legit, Utah license has been used in Tx for awhile because Tx respects Utah's permit, here's the thing, & I've told several people this over the last few months that have asked about it, but Texas is thinking about enacting a law that makes it illegal to carry here if u live here and don't have a Tx CHL, that way people visiting from other states could still carry but people trying to skirt Tx law by getting a Utah CHL while being a Tx resident couldn't.
Thanks. I thought that this was a little bit suspect, although it is perfectly legit, I'm still going to go to the TX CHL class. thanks again for the info. you've got a great channel.
For my CT permit, it was an 8 hour course. For 6 hours we bullshitted, then he plowed through all we needed in 2 hours, written test, fired a semi auto pistol and revolver.
@NESurvivalPrep Yeah the "Mandatory" 8 hours, or 10 hours in my case is usually filled with B.S. cause it just doesn't take that long to go through the required material.
Then go to range and fire one (1) .38 cal round downrange. They supplied the firearm. . Get your two 2x2 photos taken and fingerprinted onsite and placed in your app. The instructors where all FDLE ,SWAT, SRT .
118.00 money order buys the first five years. , Refundable if you don't pass background cheak, 85$ every five years with a updated pic.
I wish I could get a CWP..but a 'stalker' called the cops on me and I got 'detained' for about a day and now I have to wait 5 years! Sh** sucks but don't know what I can do!

@themeleed The most important reason to carry is to protect ourselves against a corrupt government. Did a vid on that awhile back. Thanks for watching bro!!
I live in Indiana and we have a License to Carry a Handgun license. Indiana is also the only state I am aware of that offers a Lifetime License option. The Lifetime license costs only $125. The 4 year license costs $50. To apply we go to the local Police Station or Sheriffs Dept. and fill out the application and get fingerprinted for background check. 3-6 weeks later we get a pepto bismol colored piece of paper in the mail with the license attached. No classes or training required
here in iowa laws are changing when i got mine in about two days , went down filled out less paper work than the permit to acquire and in two days had my license and i got to choose between a paper one or a pic i.d. that easy , cool thing is that on JAN 1 we can open carry if we want too!
AL - walk in Sheriff's office. Request permit. Background Check. Provide residency info / Drivers License. 25 dollar fee (fee varies by county but minimum by state law is $1). walked out the door holding permit.
Course this doesn't mean you know how to use it.. just that your not a felon. By Alabama and US constitutions there are no prerequisite training required. I'm in rural north AL so its basically a father takes son shooting for training, though we do have shooting range training.
Yall got to much BS to go through / Here in Ga. I went to the probate court office filled out the paper work payed 60 dollars took some other paper work to the sheriff office got finger printed and waited one week and my licence came in the mail and is good for 5yrs / for the laws go to georgiapacking(dot)org
@lazanfitness Sounds like a plan bro, u definitely have to hit a gun range when u get to the states. Where u going to be visiting in the U.S.? Thanks 4 watchin bro!!
@lazanfitness I can only speak for Texas, but I'm pretty sure u can go into any gun range that rents guns and shoot as long as u have I.D. which I'm sure your passport would be good enuff.
Still waiting for my license in MA. I took a free hunter education class, walked in to my local PD with my safety certificate and $100 check. The officer asked a few REALLY simple questions, took my fingerprints and photos and sent me on my way. Told me i should receive a call in about a month. It's been a month and half.
What surprised me was that I never had to fire a gun or give a reason for applying.
@hhhyr55l Well sounds alot simpler there than here, we don't have to give a reason why we want the license but we do have to take a range test. Thanks 4 sharing your story bro!!!
LOL, when i did mine, and we were doing the range qualification, i had an 85 year old woman shooting right next to me who had never shot a gun in her life. this was an outdoor range, so she was literally right next to me, shaking and all. Funny thing is, she passed!
@tim12161974 LOL .... I bet that was fun, makes going to the range exciting, u don't know if you'll make it home or wind up getting shot by an 85 y/o woman ... lol
@NeverEnuffAmmo She was Texan, born and bred! Just shocking to witness! Lol, she was the class favorite by far. One question about your M&P... Did it come with just the night sight on the front sight, or did you do that?
@tim12161974 Mine came with the night sight, not sure if it was factory done, or done by the shop I bought it from, they've been known to upgrade some of their firearms to up the price from time to time.
indiana, got to the local cop shop fill out a short questiionair, get your prints taken and pay $125 total,$75 to state and $50 to local county, they run your backround check and u wait for it to come in the mail
Pa is relitvely easy to get a CCW or LTCF as it known here. In Philadelphia I heard people get turned down for the stupidedt stuff. Like a an parking ticket five years ago or because they sent in there application to soon afer they turned 21. Unless you a LEO of some kind you have to go threw a lot or red tape and BS and maybe even appeal some stuff too to get a LTCF in Philadelphia.
@NeverEnuffAmmo Just wanted to share a personal story. I have a Freind who lives in Philadelphia he applied for a LTCF a week after he turned 21. Spotless record, had two Philadelphia Police officers for his good charcter contacts. He was denied for applying too close to his 21st birthday. Myslef and a few other even some police officer told him to appeal. He always gets pissy when he comes to vist and I open carry.
In Virginia, for me anyways, all I had to do was take an online class, pay $30 or $40 for it, then answer 20 easy questions after watching a 1 hour video on the website, then print my certificate after completion, then go to the court with it, pay $50 and fill out the paperwork, no finger prints or shooting at a range, then I received my permit in about 3 or 4 weeks in the mail. Easy as that.
It is so ironic we have to go through hoops to get a concealed carry license but getting a driver's license is easy. 50,000 plus people die in auto accidents every year. Great video Matt! When I took mine I used my G19 and had never shot it. Once you qualify you can carry revolvers or semi-autos.
@Mr45Bullitt Yeah I know, with all the stuff that people do while driving, and they get a license even if they do stupid stuff, while we have to swim through waves of bueracratic red tape to get what is guaranteed to us by the constitution ..... it is crazy, that 4 watchin bro!!
@thecajunblaze Yeah with the reputation that Texas has for being gun friendly people wouldn't think we have to do all that to get our license, but it's really just B.S. buerocratic red tape, because unless your a felon your gonna get your license, so it really just making people jump through hoops just because they can.
@ODgr33n Oh I'd be pissed if they did that here, u can basically buy a gun here everday of the year as long as u pass the background check. And if u have a CHL u can bypass the background check
Here in GA all i had to do was go down to the court the clerk filled out the paper work they finger printed me paid my $45.00 got my CCW mailed to me 7 days later. The CCW is great for buying a gun cause it bypasses the background check
if only i could cc my state does not allow it unless you can prove that you are in danger of being or have been threatened in some way and there are three reported cases. hence the delay on the S&W M&P 9 full 9 full size purchase.
@jojo3102 WOW, that makes no sense at all, so u have to wait until after your in danger before they'll even consider letting u carry? You could be dead by then ..... stupid people and stupid laws.
@GunWebsites Thanks bro ..... I hope to hear from as many as possible to find out how it is in the rest of the country ..... of course I know how it is where u are ........ if u want to carry a gun in AZ u just go buy a gun ... LOL
I live in one of the two states that does NOT allow any type of CCW license. The rest of you in the 48 are lucky ducks. We tried to vote our Gov. out, but missed by a few thousand votes. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
When I got my CCW here in VA, the classroom hunters's safety course I had in 6th grade at my school counted as my training. I took that certificate, a copy of my photo ID and the application printed from the VA state police website to the clerk of court. It only cost me $15. After my background check, they called me about 3 weeks later to come pick it up.
@YourTacticalGuru Damn that sounds nice. Do u get any perks with your license or is it just good for CCW ...... Like here, our license also allows us to by-pass back grounds checks for gun purchases, it's actually half the reason I got the CHL .... lol
@NeverEnuffAmmo I've had my permit for less than a year and I have only bought one gun since. I think I remember them still calling in a background check on me. I'll pay more attention next time,
In NYC, I have a better chance of winning the lottery while being simultaneously eaten by a shark and hit by lightning than being granted a CCW permit.
In New York you call the county sheriffs office and they will send you the application, when they feel like it. You fill out all the paper work and call for a appointment to submit it and then get pictures and fingerprints. If you have any priors you will be called to the county judges offices for a interview, when he has time. Anyway you will probably wait between 10 to 18 months. then you get a letter telling you to call and make a appointment to come to the office to pick up your permit.
TN seems a little more lax than TEXAS ,the guy next to me was legally blind and he got his the only person that didnt get one that day was a guy that was a felon ...ooops he forgot that he spent 7 years in prison
thanks for the input man, cant really respond for another month or two lol. Need time at the range with the new guns I will be getting before I take the tests!
My State's one of the "Gold Star" ones. CCW is by permit, but it's the only permit required. Of course, Federal BS says you gotta be 21 to even own a pistol (I'm 20 right now. Am I gonna be some sort of magic sage guru as soon as I turn 21? I think not.) It should only cost a total of $50, which compared to many is inexpensive. You can have any of a variety of courses, or some other "proof" that you can handle a gun. Then they hold it for 45 days. And they shall issue if no felonies.
It blows my mind that in a gun friendly state like Texas it's illegal to open carry here in Louisiana you can open carry without a permit the only thing you can't do here is carry an automatic knive. You can own them but just not carry them which is kind of dumb to me.
@Mr1911guy There are alot of stupid laws, I mean does it really make sense that u can carry a gun but not a certain kind of knife ...... yeah Texas has a reputation for being gun friendly, and it is ........ if u go through all the paperwork & buerocratic bullshit, which honestly is just more of an inconvenience than it is a restriction because the standards aren't high or anything, as long as your not a felon u can get a license, u just have to deal with the B.S.
In Southern California the only way you get a CCW is if you make millions a year. Cops dont care if your female and your ex BF or husband is threatening to kill you and your kids. They only care about the wealthy.
I heard in Northern California it's possible to get one even if you aren't wealthy.
In GA it was 10 minutes at the courthouse, 2 mins at the sheriffs office, then an 8 day wait for my ccw licences to come in the mail. Very easy, very quick process.

Its interesting to here how other states' laws are though. I figured Texas had a concealed carry license vending machine as I always thought that Texas was the most gun friendly state out there but I guess its not.
wildbill23c 6 months ago
@wildbill23c It's gun friendly in many areas, but carry still seems to be a sore spot for some liberals in the Austin political circle. We have been rated number 1 in laws protecting gun owners and individuals who had to actually use a firearm in defense, we have alot of laws protecting people who have to use a firearm along with more situations in which we can legally shoot someone other than just in a life or death situation. I could legally shoot someone for trying to steal my car
NeverEnuffAmmo 6 months ago
@wildbill23c Yeah, I used my DD214 to get my license in Idaho but I kinda want to take a class just to keep refreshed and up to date.
Snipe4261 6 months ago
@Snipe4261
Same here I took the class just haven't had the money to get my permit, plus now that I don't have a job I've had to sell all of my guns anyhow so there's no reason to have a permit.
wildbill23c 6 months ago
The requirements, test and qualifying here in CA are about the same. The BIG difference is that your local law enforcement gets to decide of you're worthy, regardless of passing everything. Some places just flat don't approve CCW permits. But there actually are places, mostly in the mountains, that approve just about everything.
ElDub50 7 months ago
@ElDub50 Yeah I've got a friend who live there and he told me that in the northern part of the state CCW's are actually pretty popular and fairly east to get.
NeverEnuffAmmo 7 months ago
@NeverEnuffAmmo Yep, I'm lucky to be in one of those friendly counties. Was scheduled to take my CCW class tomorrow but had to postpone it due to work. I've subbed to 2 or 3 Ytubers up in this area. I'll have to try making some vids someday soon.
ElDub50 7 months ago
for real? and you're from texas? i thought texas was a southern state and not a pussy bitch state like NY or CA, or any other place where they have fucked up gun laws yet fags can get married. anyway, mine was $50 and a background check, no classes. i'm from bama, the heart of dixie.
Szalaszi 8 months ago
@Szalaszi Yeah it's a pain in the ass here. The good thing about texas is we can carry loaded in vehicles w/o a license, and we have excellent protection laws for gun owners if u ever do have to shoot someone, even over property, u can't get sued, and u can shoot someone for stealing someone else's property if u have permission from the property owner and it's all legal. So our laws concerning what happens after u shoot and when u can shoot are actually so of the best in the country

(some one call 911 etc.)so that people around, know your the good guy,our class was 8 people, our NRA shooting instructor ,used to be a bank teller ,she was robbed and shot w/a 357,my buddy in alabama just goes down to the court house and gives them $25 and they give him his permit
thechevyscrounger 9 months ago
@thechevyscrounger a 4 hour class sounds alot better than the 10 hour class we took, but then again our class only had about 4 hours of actual info and testing anyway ..... lol
NeverEnuffAmmo 9 months ago
@NeverEnuffAmmo yea ,and i remember bitching about the 4 hour class ,thinking ,what the hell are we going to do for 4 hours ,but the time went fast ,and honestly ,we were all into in to having a good time ,i could of hung out awhile longer ,we paid him $100 and the state $112 BTW he had an indoor range in a semi trailer in a industrial area ,so we never had to leave the place
thechevyscrounger 9 months ago
In Nv (Nv is a "shall issue" state), i had to...
8 weeks later Nv CCW shows.
$65 to Utah.
and since Fl honors the Ut CCW, no need.

texastitansyahoocom 1 year ago
@texastitansyahoocom Its perfectly legit, Utah license has been used in Tx for awhile because Tx respects Utah's permit, here's the thing, & I've told several people this over the last few months that have asked about it, but Texas is thinking about enacting a law that makes it illegal to carry here if u live here and don't have a Tx CHL, that way people visiting from other states could still carry but people trying to skirt Tx law by getting a Utah CHL while being a Tx resident couldn't.
