This "E55 AMG" isn't an E55 AMG at all. It's not even an E50 AMG and I seriously doubt it's even an E430/E420. Most likely it's some heavily tuned E320 or even E240 that has revised gear ratios and all excess weight removed. No AMG came with a towing hitch at the rear - a dead give-away that this car isn't an AMG at all.

Jake, someone is going to go to all that trouble to spend more money on tuning up an E240 than buying an old E55 and even though they spent so much money tuning it they left an ugly tow-hitch on the back? Makes no sense, especially since in Europe a high mileage W210 E55 can be got for less than a good condition E240 of the same model year because practically nobody wants such a thirsty and expensive vehicle. And NOBODY is going to tune up an E240 for youtube racing. ;-)

An E240 can be had for cheap money in Europe and I suspect the engine is tunable. This is not a car some boy racer will buy in the first place but there are exceptions. This car is not an E50 or E55 AMG. No way. It lacks the identifying AMG features on the outside. "Sounds"? A riced out Ford Fiesta can sound like a Ferrari on Internet videos. You need to hear these things in real life to make a proper judgement. This car is not an E class AMG. Period.

Jake, which identifying AMG features? Check the front fogs - round AMG style. Trunk lid, E55 on the left and AMG on the right. Wheels can easily be changed.

The front bumper isn't even an AMG-spec! You can get fog lights on an E200 to E430 and cover them up with roundish looking plastic covers. The grille is from a Classic or Elegance trim E class (the AMG has an Avantgarde trim grille) and those rear mufflers are not stock AMG at all. Oh, you can change your exhaust system on the std. E class to twin mufflers. This car isn't an AMG. I am sick of arguing here because the visual indicators speak for themselves. This car is not an AMG. Period.

Yes it did. Maybe not in the US but definitely in Europe as a W210 E55 pre-facelift.

And while nobody in the US might fit a tow hook, in Europe it is not unheard of and is not an indicator that this is no E55. Looks and sounds like an E55 to me but I don't understand why you guys are complaining anyway - the E55 won, as could be expected of a lighter and more powerful car. The E is in the same class as the A6, so it would have made more sense to race the E55 against the RS6.

I have an 354hp E55 and a 299hp A8, and the AMG is WAY faster than the A8, also faster than the S8, sorry audifans... however the audi is a smooth ride, and safe in the winter, where the AMG is useless/dangerous and stored with the motorcycle in the garage... As mestreder13 noted the AMG cannot be equipped with a trailerhitch, why this car is NOT an E55, but just a re-badged 4-something !

Yes, you are only looking at 0-60 times. However, around a track, or in a quartermile race, the LMS would beat the 722 (not sure about V12 TDI beating the SLR though). The LMS has a 400 bhp per tonne whereas the SLR 722 has 354 bhp per tonne. On a longer race or the track, I'm sure that huge difference would be exploited :) The LMS was prepared to race in the GT3 category so it's a fully bred race car :P But hey, I'm not going to diss MB - after all, my fav cars are the G55 and the S600 ;)
