One of my favorite things about this show is the diverse writing and performing sensibilities within the troupe. Mark and Bruce are so brilliant, but in different ways. The subtle way Mark shrugs about being 16, smiles and says "..but I don't know" followed by Bruce's coarse vitriolic grunts of sentiment, and Dave finishing off with a bewildered attempt at poignancy = comedic genius. My favorite quote of all time: the moon laughs knowingly...the moon laughs...the moon...the. Absurdly divine!

This is one of my all-time favorites. I LOVE the end of Bruce's poetry slam -- it would have been more predictable if he'd ended with "laughs" or "moon," but whichever one wrote the sketch knew how to surprise the audience and defy expectations. So funny! And SO reminiscent of my college poetry classes.

What's damned weird is we made tie-dye shirts in my high school art class and I made one almost identical to the one Bruce is wearing in this in color and design. This was a few months after I'd seen this sketch but I never paid any special attention to the shirt....
