  • Does anyone know if they make inter coolers for this superchager?

  • thanks for posting kool vid

  • do you work for firestone?

  • Is it possible for your average joe to tear it down as far as you did, then bring the housing and snout to a dealer and have them install new bearings for me? Then just slap it all back together?

My coupler and seal are bad, I figure I might as well replace the bearing too. No?

  • he,he. It's so cute, good little video. Thats ashame that you had that kind of time, to do that at work! what am I talking about, It's ashame you have to work for the Dealer!

between half paying warranty and recall's, feel for ya brother...use to be there,

  • @isurrendered try different pulleys if it is not factory build,

  • For something that can make your engine a beast, or turn your engine into scrap, it's a stupidly simple device really.

  • nice though I thought they were longer length

    signed Manga12

  • Thanks man I always wanted to know how those worked nobody has ever been able to explain it.

  • great vid

  • theres really not a whole lot to those things. i wonder what makes them cost 5-7k then LOL

  • @steelstrings1312 completely on ebay $1300-1500 heads injectors computer wiring loom blower belt everything, rest of the money goes to installation, if you can do it yourself it is cheap,

  • good informative video

  • Gr8 Vid man, wtf is that super charger offa the size of it looks like it should be on a WWII fighter or something, over here in europe we only little teeny weeny blowers to go with our teeny weeny engines, then again we need teeny weeny engine cuz we have teeny weeny cars, but the we need teeny weeny cars to go on our teeny weeny roads Etc Etc.

  • Thanks for that excellent vid! Yuo did a terrific job of explaining how that roots blower works. I liked the way you explained the bypass valve. I didn't know that, but now that you mention it, it makes good sense. The camera work was good. All around good job and a well done interesting vid. Thanx again!

  • that dealership your working in looks horribly familiar

  • Looks like my nissan 4x4 crew alpine green in back ground lol?

  • thanks for that jr, great to see inside without having to buy one.

i have quite a few videos I just put up of me taking piston fridge compressors to bits (as they go on, they get quite nerdy and are aimed at the science geeks / DIYers, but anyone interested in a roots might like those as well)

  • @techx3d It's a tear down of a BAD charger..

  • @Wheatjr well the case is probably still ok, other than probably needing to be resurfaced now. haha

  • Sweet, never actually seen the insides of one before, only manuals and diagrams, got to love the simplicity.

  • Much Appreciated. I'm very interested in these but I haven't the means to do this myself so Thank You,

  • Boy that is an awesome video! can you put a underdrive kit on these or no?

  • thank you sir =)

  • Thanks man! this is an amazing video!

  • The first nipple on the bypass valve connects to vacuum on the manifold itself. Where does the other nipple connect?

  • nice video man, very neat. I'm not a fan of roots blowers, I prefer either centrifugal or turbo.

  • Thanks for the demo. That's cool!

  • Thank you ... Great Video

  • great video. Thanks for the info. How do you replace the needle bearings when they go bad?

  • Awesome little breakdown you did there -- cant thank you enough!

  • i have 2 m90 eaton vaccum release valves i want to run both on my big block 440 mopar with 2 600 cfm eldrabrock crbs,im making a cross ramm intake manifold and running the pulley setup with a indepedent shaft to vary my blower speeds to the engine rpms .they were off buicks 1999 the eatons feed back is well appercated .

    GOOD VIDEO

  • gloves dude...really?

  • if you pull the roots out of the housing on the car will it go back together and what is on the other end are there needle berrings in there like a cup on a u joint ???

  • how much heat can these blowers handle?

  • Great vid. Hope to see more..

    Greetings from the netherlands

  • very well done props.

  • do you know if the exterra/frontier supercharged versions have low compression pistons for boost? and do you know the compression ratio of the naturally aspirated one? cause i was thinking of slapping one of those on my truck but im not sure what my compression is for my truck

  • you made that look easy as hel!!!

  • Lol, no I'm from North Ga.

  • @Wheatjr Where about? in north ga?

  • @Wheatjr

    What shop are you with?

  • @Wheatjr Finally someone who talks normal. Haha. I'm next door in Alabama.

  • is that a texas accent?

  • thanks great vid

  • what? check the price of bearings... btw, man, u lost all your bolts :P

  • I would think that for the price of 2 needle bearings this is more than worth rebuilding...

  • All you have to do to fix that supercharger is replace the coupler. Loof at how elongated those holes are at 2:37

  • I gotta thank you Wheatjr, this video is an asset to anyone that is interested in superchargers without having the ability to ever get their hands on one. Favorited...and 5 stars!

  • very interesting,, thanks

  • Actually a Roots is not a compressor, its basically an air "pump." A screw type supercharger is a compressor.

  • Nice video. Its cool to see a good clean tear down of the tech that helps us go fast. 5 stars. I would love to see more tear downs from you.

  • awsome video thanks for posting. Like to see a rebuild vid and install/remove vido too if any one has one.

  • its amazing how we can make cars- things move easier for us, and we just sit back and chill !

  • Wheatjr thx for posting man!

and i love how some people (matt) watch a video and pay no attention then ask dumb questions

  • Good video. Thanks for posting it.

  • matt, its a tear down of a Bad Supercharger.

  • No offense, but what did the mechanic say that wasn't right?

  • What??? The Screws go only 10 inches in? wtf I thought they were the hole length of the housing.

And is it the smaller the pulley is, the more boost? Or is it the lighter the pulley, the more boost?

    That's so cool. Great Vid

    5*

  • smaller the pulley the more boost

  • this is an eaton m62 blower, they are a tad smaller then what other manufactures use, the nissan vg33 (3.3) is a pretty small engine compared to GM's 3800s. sometimes i wish i had one of these sitting ontop of my frontier.

  • good job on your video ,you are very correct that only a trained mech should work on one setting the clearances and the gears.

i have (2) eaton m90 sc off a buicks ,building a manifold to put on both on a 446 MOPAR,

no bs fun with a mill .

  • nice vid. Try figuring out a miller cycle engine..crazy stuff, i used to own a Millenia S and the engine/charger were awesome, but only a handfull of dealerships could work on it.

  • that was cool. thanks for the info.

  • beautyful blower and nice english yo speakin there ...

  • is there any after market valves for that style of supercharger i ahvent been able to find the right style ....

  • Nice one, but dude slow down!

  • lol time is money

  • that was cool man. thanks!

  • good video. thank you!

  • Yes it is, its a eaton m90 twin screw, roots style supercharger, same kind they put on the pontiac GTP, SSEI, Regal GS, Rivera, Impala SS, M. Carlo SS

  • Wow thats for doing this its ver informative, Nice job 5 stars

  • common misconception, eaton are actually roots type blowers. (3 lobe)

  • they do have a screw shape to help efficiency, but are a roots blower. maybe he was confused by the shape.

  • FAIL. kenne bell and whipples are twin screw. this IS an eaton and it IS roots.

  • Eeeeeengine...

  • ok smart guy. explain the eaton-m90 powered 3.8 V6 motors. i have one. it's a roots blower. YOU look it up.

  • this is why i love working with autos.

  • cool vid man!

  • Thanks for sharing that!

  • very helpful and informative video. thanks a lot!

  • very nice job wheat!

    BSR-1

  • those blades are about the same size as the ones in my supercharger. I ride the supercharged kfx730 called the superbeast... thanks for the video!

  • hell yea man thanks!1

  • Thank you for the time to make and post that video, I always wondered what the inside of a roots style blower looked like. I appreciate this video.
