They are giving the ride a face lift to increase the capacity and reliability of the ride. (New trains and loading procedures)

And to market the face lift, they gave the ride a new paint job and when it reopens it will feature fire, fog, and sound effects.

NO. That ride was located at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and was called Superman Tower of Power.

This ride is Called X (now X2) and is located at Six Flags Magic Mountain (California).

Also SuperMan was a drop tower ride, this ride is a roller coaster.

Magic Mountain WILL NOT BE SHUTTING DOWN! They have decided to keep the park and are in the process of removing old/outdated rides and updating existing rides. Also a NEW kids area will be opening up in 2008, Thomas Town (Thomas the Tank Engine). The park just got a NEW general manager and things have already started to turn around. Magic Mountain will not be going any where in the foreseeable future.

Goliath is REALLY BIG, but very tame. Its 255 feet tall and travels at 85mph. The drop isn't really steep enough to give me a thrill. The only parts of Goliath that are actually good is the 3rd hill and the helix. Other than that the ride is quite boring. But for most people its a thrill.

It dose travel backwards but the coaster is classified as a "4th dimension" coaster. You travel backwards, forwards, and your seat spins 360 degrees, head over heals. All doing vertical drops, turns and flips at 76mph. I hope I answered your question.

It was recently down for 6 months due to a lift motor burnt out. The ride has down time during the day so wheels can be replaced. And when the ride opened they had to shut down the ride for 9 month so modifications could be made to the trains and ride structure, due to the weight of the trains.

On top of all that the ride has a VERY SLOW load process and on a Saturday in August it is not unusual to see this ride pull a 3,4,5 hour wait.

And due to the waits this ride has, it closes one hour before the park closes.

I was really scared the first time I went on this ride, but the weird thing is that you don't feel any butterflies in your stomach when you go down the first drop. I absolutely loved this ride. I was laughing the whole time I rode it!
