It's nice to see the swimmer with the best technique winning the race :)...I would hate if the russian won...Nothing personal but...terrible technique!
@missyqute its only 15 minutes of swimming... anyone can swim for 15 minutes, swimming at that pace is something else though, to do that theres a little trick they use. its called TRAINING.
If they're out of school, then they swim until night (eating breakfast, lunch and dinner) and then in the and late night they study how to cut through the water better.
So 7 x around 13 + 4 hours gym = 119 hours a week.
and the dont spend their whole day in the pool. they tend to do a 2 hour session in the morning and a 2 hour session in the evening, 6 days a week. and have one recovery day where they might just go for an hour to do some easy drills. they do gym work for 5 or 6 days as well so its more like 30 hours a week. no one can train 119 hours a week, thats 70% of your time spent in a pool. which would kill you.
i love it the yank's and aussie think they can have it all, well David Davies of GREAT BRITAIN came in third, and in the 2008 olympics we got some more glory, bring on 2012
I just finished my first season with a 24.2 individual and a 23.3 split for the 4x200 =/ That only got me 9th in districts though, I couldn't carry my relay to state, as hard as I tried.
He's probably happy because it looks like he broke fifteen minutes (the announcer in the beginning said he was the only one under fifteen for his qualifying time). If you break fifteen minutes you're basically in a handful of twenty or thirty guys on the whole planet that can go that fast.
doesn't matter how fast you are when you're 13. Trust me. it's all about what you can bring when you're in highschool. That's when you'll know how good you're gonna be...
