Have not tried the Marlin flake yet haven't got the bollocks at the moment some one told me on YouTube to smoke it slow as it could melt my face and nice to meet a fellow Celt take care mate.
Well, I don't have a Shannon but I do have some HOTW and A Donegal Rocky 03. Fine smokin as you say. I used to live in the country and every year Farmer John would dry his damned corn in two silos less that 75 yards from my place. Sheesh. The noise was abd but that corn dust! Terrible. Hawgs gotta eat tho.
Thanks for the video! I have been smoking again for two years now after a long pause. Somehow I must have acquired the neccesary mindfulness for slow smoking - the slower I smoke the better it tastes! My children always comment on the lack of smoke!
Great to see another video from you again! Watching this vid made everything slow down a bit here for me. Looks like a nice quite place ya got there other that the air port and the farmers ; ) Hope dug the dug is doing well as you mate.
I love the old Marlin flake matey. Someone on tobacco reviews said that Hal O' the Wynd, Marlin Flake, and Old Gowrie, are the Holy Trinity of pipe tobaccos. I think they were correct :)
I have to agree with you 100% thats the only way to smoke, i find it easier though when your alone with yer pipe, its like one big long kiss with a beautiful woman. (my missus) lol...walk away whistling.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Thanks very much for making the video, despite farming machinery and rich b'stards in private planes..lol...
I tried to include the link in the comments box to the wee article about 'the mechanics' or the 'how to' but it won't let me post it here. Would you be able to add it to the info under the video for others to see ? It was very helpful
@TamperPeterson I can keep mine lit that long but am still requiring too many relights to suit me. I did take your advice tho. I stopped worrying about it and just enjoy the pipe and relight when needed.
Good advice. I like my churchwardens because they are conducive to sipping slowly. I too have the saliva effect if I clench too long. Damn farmers and rich bastards! LOL
what was the name of that tobacco? hard for me to hear, i live near the approach of a small airport myself. i love the music too, i want to learn to play the flute or whistle like yourself, but am having a hard time finding exactly what it is
The tobacco is Rattray's Hal O' the Wynd. Sad thing is, I don't live near an airport. Thankfully, noisy planes only seem to appear whenever I am making youtube videos ! Hehee
Whistle's are cheap to come by matey. I'd recommend a Clarke's "meg" in D. Easier to get the high notes on for a beginner, and great sounding whistles. Cheap too :)
@TamperPeterson thanks for the info, always loved the sound of them, bagpipes too, but they are tad expensive for me. will have to get my hands on some of that tobacco
we have near identical smoking styles. You would really like a modern Italian pipe, like a Ser Jacopo, Radice, Cavicchi, Il Ceppo, etc. They have wide open draws that really work well for guys like us. I need to have my Ferndowns opened up, they feel very restricted in comparison.
Think I'd have to say that my favourite pipes are my Petersons. I do like the P-lip that many hate. I hated them myself at one time......a "looong" time ago now I come to think about it ! Heheee

My mouth fills up when I clench for a long period of time too. I'm guilty of "dragon puffing" (as I coin the term) to get immersed in smoke which I enjoy tremendously. I'm going to give an even slower, breath smoking approach to my next bowl.
lol at the noisy farmer and the rich bastard comments. Sometimes I wonder if my neighbors sit around dreaming up idiotic, mundane ways to break out loud, heavy machinery to annoy the Hell out of me. Ah well.
I'm the same way with regards to clenching the pipe, it'll get too wet if I leave it in there for more than 30 seconds.

You can always tell a poser with his Dunhill and Penzance from a pipe smoker with his cob of Prince Albert!
