If there's a real debate, it's philosophical. That debate is about whether or not a deity exists. There are plenty of arguments for and against the existence.
If anything, kids should be learning about philosophy. They can also deal with other issues.

Yes, I have heard of this bone with red blood in it. Scientist were astounded by this. It had to be because of an ice age that froze the bone to keep it from decaying. At least that is one possibility. If all dinosaurs were the age you suggest, then all dino bones would carry red blood cells in them, NOT just this one discovery. You say Earth is 6000 years old. WE have craters on Earth that are much older than that.

Just curious to know what your views are in regards to teaching greek mythology in public school? I personally view the stories of Genesis as just that, stories. Similar to the Greek Mythology stories. Not sure if you'd agree, but I think a lot of students find the teaching of Greek Mythology rather interested, just as Creationism would be. I'm very much pro teaching of Creationism in literature and philosophy courses, but certainly not in Science. It's important to know the history of religion

Mayor Palin used Creationism as part of her platform when she ran for the Governor position. Regardless if she would impose Creationism through the federal level, the main point of this video was that she is indeed a creationist. And being one, I cannot with any clear conscious, vote for her, just like I couldn't vote for anyone who believed in a flat earth. It's an issue of competence, which apparently, Governor Palin has yet to demonstrate.

I'm a registered republican who voted for dole in 96 and mccain in 2000. 2, so is not teaching that the earth is the center of the universe, or that matter is made of earth, wind, and fire instead of atoms ALSO communist? No, Creationism isn't science because god cannot be measured and is unfalsifiable. He is outside of science, so anything pertaining to him, i.e.: creationism, is not science, and should not be taught in science class.

The religiously ignorant are so frustrating. Look at all the "hate groups", i.e.: anti gay, white supremacist, antisemitic, etc.. What do they all have in common? Religious idealism. being republican doesnt mean you arent liberal, just look at mccain. scientists try to teach that the earth is the center of the universe because they believe that they can estimate how old the universe is by the light given off by the stars that are the furthest from earth, yet if you look through a telescope from any point on earth, you will be able to see the same distance every time meaning that that is the the furthest a telescope can see and there is more beyond what that point.

youre right, god cant be measured by science and is outside of science because our science only pertains to our universes properties, but those properties do not mandate our god because he created those properties. you see there are no properties where god is at. i like to compare it to a video game where the game designers enter the code that determines the properties in that virtual world such as the amount of gravity ect. i think its a good way to think about this.

I believe that without a sense the Almighty that people will have to fear the state since they no longer try to abide by the laws of God. If suddenly everyone in the world became atheist at once. Of course it wouldn't be anything goes right away but after a generation or two it would, I believe, either look like China or a bigger version of lord of the flies. If morality comes from people then that morality is subject to change. Murder for example won't be murder anymore. We can just call it something like forcible early extinguishing.

The problem with people that want creationism taught in school is that it would mean, Inuit creationism must be taught, Hindu creationism must be taught, Minoan creationism must be taught, Egyptian creationism must be taught, etc. and they don't want that. Plus the fact that there's this tiny clause in our constitution that says something about church and state? I dunno, but it sounds like this would deal with that clause.
