Reyes is not explosive. Reyes is terrible defensively, and his offense is overrated. His career OBP is .337, which is awful for a leadoff hitter. Yes, he steals a lot of bases, but he also gets caught stealing a lot. His career OPS+ is just one point above average, and his EqA shows that his near-.290 batting average is misleading (although batting average is a terrible stat anyways). Hanley Ramirez, Albert Pujols, Prince Fielder, these players are far and away more explosive than Reyes.

Jose Reyes has hit never hit over .300 in a single full season. He's never posted an OPS+ over 118. His career OPS+ is 101, one point above average. His career OBP is terrible for a leadoff hitter. in my opinion, the only bad thing with reyes is that hes too much of a jokester along with David Wright, but he does defend on what he talks behind the scenes in which I like about him. Like that time on when ( I forgot his name but in 07-08 Marlins Third baseman) had gotten serious with Reyes and wanted to fight becuase Reyes said something to him, and reyes being the Jokester thought was joke but if it wasn't David they would've been supended for a while

Reyes is not explosive. Reyes is terrible defensively, and his offense is overrated. His career OBP is .337, which is awful for a leadoff hitter. Yes, he steals a lot of bases, but he also gets caught stealing a lot. His career OPS+ is just one point above average, and his EqA shows that his near-.290 batting average is misleading (although batting average is a terrible stat anyways). Hanley Ramirez, Albert Pujols, Prince Fielder, these players are far and away more explosive than Reyes.

Errors are stupid. They are misleading as fuck, and almost as bad as wins for a pitcher.
Reyes' range is well below average (career 4.16 range factor, league average is 4.45). I don't care if he has a "cannon". Derek Jeter has a good arm too. He's also terrible defensively.
Troy Tulowitzki has a career range factor over 5.00. He set a career low for range factor this season with a 4.51 RF/9, which is still WAY higher than any season Reyes has ever had.

He's only gotten more than 60 rbis twice in his career..and the average? This man with his speed should be a .300 at the LEAST every year. Jose Reyes has hit never hit over .300 in a single full season. He's never posted an OPS+ over 118. His career OPS+ is 101, one point above average. His career OBP is terrible for a leadoff hitter. He makes a huge amount of outs every year, and he annually is at the top of the league in caught stealings.
Also, his defense is near terrible. He's been below-average every year except for 2007 in fielding runs.
Reyes is severly overrated, especially by immature Mets fans like yourself.
