The ondes Martenot rebirth ! You can go to my website (it is written in the text with informations about the video), click on the ondes Martenot page, find the paragraph dedicated to the new ondes Martenot ready at the end of this year (written in red on this page) and send an email to have the more recent informations about it. It will not be so expensive.
Thomas Bloch (who plays the ondes Martenot in this video) has played with Radiohead. Jonny Greenwood (from the band) has himself a clone of the ondes and he is a fan of Messiaen.
Jonny also has one of the few original Ondes Martenots. He commissioned The French Connection controller to avoid the hassle of taking his Martenot on tour.
He doesn't have an original ondes Martenot (whose production stopped in 1988) but one of the few digital little model (called chamber music) instruments made in the 90's by a relative of the inventor.
Maybe its just the bad recording quality, but the timbre at 0:46 sounds incredible!

@mikrokosmik That's the sound of the metallic loudspeaker (a gong replaces the membrane and vibrates).

The Ondes Martenot ads another dimension to such a lovley melody. It is hauntingly sweet.

Get a Theremin--same idea--harder to play though.
You can get one for about $100, (114 Euros).

touchè. No se como se puede haber dejado de fabricar este capricho de los dioses. Orfeo podría haberlo hecho gritar. Magnific.

Superb. I wish he would record the entire piece. I love the bird interludes in the second and third movements as well.
