Not that I agree with Miss Klein about much on the economic front but the FACT is high paying tech and other higher paying middle income jobs are being outsourced in mass the past 30 years. It's the fact they could get someone to work for .50 a hour and no other benefits. Interesting argument. I think it's just silly that she argues it's "how" they are manufactured, and not "where". The only way to make sure they are manufactured in a way she finds pleasing is to simply move them here, maybe give the contracts to some union... Only problem is that some people already can't afford new shoes, by making them here, you only make them harder to afford. Love how she can talk and have no idea about market forces.

It is true that what is worst than exploitation is unemployment. However this doesn't mean exploitation is justifiable. It seems like Sameena Ahmad is trying to justify exploitations in these sweat shops by questioning what these jobs means to workers.

Sweat shop owners aren't simply exploiting workers' labor force but also exploiting workers' desperate conditions as well. And this is what Sameena Ahmad is defending by noting the importance by noting what she is saying.
