I wasn't fair what happened to Paris Hilton. She was released from jail because the SHERIFF is in charge in LA, NOT THE JUDGE!!! The SHERIFF released her, the judge should have kept his big mouth shut and accepted that he's not in charge. Sure Paris is a spoiled brat, but it does not mean she should have been treated like she was.

A judge enforces the judgements of the court of which the sheriff is an officer who obeys the court. A sheriff can't overturn a judge's decision. I know things are backwards in LA but that's something which is universal in any county in the US. It's pefectly fair what happened to Paris. Brat or not she was treated like a convict which is what the law dictates.

Never mind that the LA County jail system was under FEDERAL (if memory serves) orders to cut down on the overcrowding and other people were being released early also (one after only a few minutes if I remember right) and no other judge in LA threw a tantrum until Paris was released. If she wasn't realeased early, then no one else should have been either.
