  • yeah u guys suck...

  • So, its February now. I guess you guys have figured out that this is NOT a reboot. It's a relaunch. After another stupid (but good) event, the DC universe went through MINOR changes. Batman and co. and Green Lantern aren't being rebooted, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Aquaman are going through MINOR changes and everyone else are kind of in the same boat.

These are like Marvel's point ones and less like Marvel's Ultimates.

    People need to chill

  • DIDIO, I'LL GET A SUPERBOY-PRIME COSTUME, COME TO THE DC HEADQUARTERS AND DO EXACTLY TO YOU ASSHOLES WHAT PRIME DID IN BLACKEST NIGHT ADVENTURE COMICS NO. 5 !!!!!!!!! I'LL KILL YOU TO DEATH!!! That relaunch is the most stupid thing DC ever did to his previous icons...YOU'RE DESTROYING THEM! ..or maybe you are finally admitting that everything after Crisis Of Infinite Earths until now was BULLSHIT! But now, you are even making everything WORSE!! Bring Elliot S! Maggin and Julius Schwartz back!

  • Anyone else notice the purple cloak lady that's in every #1 issue?

  • I think it would hurt comics and then not make it possible to get me in front of a couple indie comics.

  • This was an interesting alternative to the other comic book show that I like. I have to say this made me think about downloadable comics. They are too expensive in most cases and unlike the paper backs are worth jack. Anyway, after reading a few on the ipad, I have to add that I prefer paper. There is just something about it that makes it a bit more special and endearing, especially if you know how to read and write.

  • I thought this was going to be news on the comic Justice League. After 5min I left.

  • adam sandler!!

  • That head looks a lot like Adam Sandler if you look at it.

  • So THAT was Jeff's burfday presint! Ha! Congratulations, dude!

And great idea for a gift, guys!

  • Just sooooo expensive to get them. 4.99$?

  • OK I love comics but I have always just been a Marvel guy even though I like a lot of DC characters. But I never really read DC before because I just didn't know the continuity. But this new reboot has got me reading DC for really the 1st time.

& this book was really great I thought Lee's art was great & I really like the story so far & I just really like the idea of seeing these characters 1st introduction to each other. & I am going to be picking up as many of these 1st issues I can.

  • 52 issues.

  • As some one who always wanted to get into comics but found it extremely daunting. It was good on the basis that I was reading the comic knowing as much as everyone else did. Relationships, power levels, enemies, story and all that stuff was unknown to me when I read an issue before. It put me off. So it worked for me. But on another level, because I do know the basic origin story around the characters and DC universe from other media. I still was hoping a bit of more story and plot.

  • Since movies go through reboots all the time, It's no surprise a comic book company would think it could do the same and have success. Just remember when the dust settles and the initial excitement wears off (and it will wear off), only the stories will keep people coming back. In fact, if you produce good product in the first place, you don't need a gimmick to sell your comics.

  • Ive been reading comics for 35 yrs

Charging $4 for the physical OR the digital verson of a 20 page "chapter" is INSANE!!!!!!!!!!

Physical comics should be $2. Digital $1. PERIOD.

LCS are a DEAD breed. only a few exist and are poorly run at best.

( there are some exceptions- but like 1 out of 10 woth going to)

JLA #1 was a by the numbers : " lets get the gang together".

    TERRIBLE 1st issue. Great art.

I hope the DCnU FAILS hard.

Perfect jump OFF point for long time readers

  • i rather enjoyed it. perfect for a new reader i would say.

  • I thought this comic was pretty freaking terrible myself.

  • MOAR AS SEEN ON TV

  • $12 gets you a year subscription not that expensive

  • @HalfricanNanners huh? where?! wtf isn't it like $25??

  • @snowman2149 lol sorry i typed backwards its 21, and idk where it was a gift thats just what my stepdad told me it was

  • fucking awesome gift

  • The reason it still expensive is because of the formatting apple has to do just to get the comic to go through there services. I pretty sure if it was a dc thing alone the price would be way less than it is now. You know apple are going to get their cut.

  • @dadarkknight36310 No. that has nothing to do with it. If they lower the price of the digital comics..then no one would go to the comic book stores...

  • Where'd Jeff get that shirt? Its awesome!

  • Love DC, really hoping the new 52 will be awesome

  • Pirating is going to come back and bite DC if they continue to charge $4 for day and date releases. For a dollar, I'd buy everything day and date. That's a dollar more than they'd get if I just found the .cbr file.

  • @Danielrh905 actually 3.99 is just for justice league and action comics for everything else is 2.99, and they all drop to 1.99 after 4 weeks..

  • @Danielrh905 LCS are dead. And the big two charge way too much for 20 page "chapters".

They have deep pockets so just google "FREE COMICBOOK DOWNLOAD" and you will find dozens of FREE sites to DL stuff the day it comes out.

For trades use amazon for the free shipping and discounted cover prices.

For indipendants...just go to local conventions to get monthlies.

Unless comics return to an affordable $2 per issue....then i will continue to digitaly download pirtated books.

  • @Danielrh905 Too late ;)

  • "why is it being digital a different value proposition than buying it in the store?"

Paper, Ink, Storage, Shipping etc. Their costs go way down with digital. That's why.

  • @fardawg - Strange that Jeff even asked the question, the answer seems so obvious. In the store, you get a physical product that you can carry around with you for decades. In digital, you get a collection of bytes.

  • /watch?v=LeESTyrUAjc

  • WTF no Planet of the Apes?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Comic Books are now way to expensive to buy,I also prefer they cost a 1 dollar.

  • I hate remakes to favorite comic books,movies,etc... Is a lazy way, instead of continuing the stories further.I hope this 50 issues of DC's will turn out to be a parallel Universe.I kind of like that Dick Grayson(The Original Robin)finally became the new Batman & that Bruce Wayne & Talia's son is the new Robin, plus Bruce continuing to also be Batman.that would bring a lot more interesting stories.also Wonder Woman,Superman,etc..

  • @CmdrSloanne they do this all the time. its apart of comics, they cant keep continuity. if they did superman would be 100 years old.

  • @betaraybrad91 that's true!.but at least they should finally have Superman retired & have his son or daughter takeover the mantel.

  • @CmdrSloanne no one cares about that, well not enough to support a book. they might touch on it but then return to there roots. no one stays dead, retired, straight, good, bad in comics.

  • @pauloskinner he was at least 30 in 1937

  • @betaraybrad91 touché

  • 3rd

  • That is so fucking cool, congrats Jeff!

  • Le first :>
