Bellissima.
@Perfidia4ever Scusami tanto ma nel definire robaccia Ram o Wild Life non sono d'accordo anzi preferisco molto più i concept album di Paul suonati ruvidamente e genuinamente da "McCartney" a "Wild Life" pieni di perle nascoste che quelli chiaramente commerciali come questo o "At the speed of sound"..anche questa canzone è troppo forzatamente arrangiata nonostante la sua bellezza..
Wonderful handcraft of a song, I get tearful every time when hearing this one.. Personally I feel that Venus And Mars doesn't stand that far away from Band On The Run, but on the other hand they are also two different planets anyway. ---hmmm... Much peace and love to everyone whatsoever!
Paul always hits the notes perfectly, yet he can make his voice do so many things. From lead to harmony in The Beatles to these marvelous, creative tunes made with wife Linda in Wings. God gave Paul a wonderful gift. Paul, I love you for sharing your gift so beautifully.
I still have the vinyl of this one - one of my favorite McCartney albums. Yet, only 1 song on it that was commercially successful (Listen to What the Man Said) - however, the entire album is loaded with GREAT music.
How come nobody asks what he means about the "places we used to go to", now and "happiness in the homeland"...? The man seemed to have a really significant message to impart ..but all they want to hear is "live and let die'...and something with a beat to dance to.
@rjpancerniCAUSA Really curious: why Soviet Russia especially if you've never lived in it? ;) Actually I was born and lived in Soviet Russia (or USSR) until its collapse and I really don't get what this beatiful song could have in common with this country
@BayStallion My mind 'connects' numbers with colors, people with music, songs with events, etc. It may have been the use of the word 'homeland'. It may have been the (guitar? or other stringed instrument) part at the beginning.
I had a mental image of a village surrounded by fields.
Really Paul himself and the Beatles, are the gratest, each one and all as the beatles, I like the music and no one is better, we need give thanks to god to let us live in this century for ear his music.
Paul McCartney after the Beatles broke up is one of the most underrated musician I know... The only album people remember is Band on the Run. After that... Only tight fans know his music. And that music... is the finest music ever released.
I have been in one of his concerts 2 years ago. It was like, a beatles song: the whole crowd is like "Yeah!!!! WOHOOO!!!! YEAH!!!! ALL RIGHT!!! WE LOVE YOU PAUL!!!!"
a none beatles song: everybody's just standing there waving their hands.
...I forgot to remind those who love this classic, that McCartney is actually playing Bill Black's (Elvis Bass Player) standup bass that Linda bought him on this track...this is a terrific classic...it hurts my heart to listen to this song...

Che canzone straordinaria. Qui Paul è fantastico. Ispirato come raramente gli capita, il refrein è bellissimo.

I bought this album (cassette) when it came out. This song 'reminded' me of Soviet Russia. (no, i have never lived in Russia). Mental imagery.
